• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

What's wrong with AVSIM?

One thing is for sure...

...it's pretty much unusable in it's current state. I used to enjoy going and getting a quick look at new uploaded files every day-- that capability seems limited at best.

Avsim sees the light and reverts to the old, usable sofware!

Avsim is back to being useful again. They have gone back to the old main
site and library software.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to express their dissatisfaction with that new
software and pointing out the problems and deficiencies!

Paul

Great that they revert, not so great that the newest files available on the Library are dated March 5, which means that my FSX BC PNW Whistler is no longer available at AVSIM. I have no idea where my upload went!!

Kudos to the gang over at AVSIM for hearing our cry in the wilderness and responding so quickly...Thanks Fellas!

Update: Whoops...only temporary...(scowl)

Well I found out what happened to my upload, to quote AVSIM:

"Our Library's Rebuild was unfortunately hindered in its introduction and as a result the Uploads done since Sunday will need to be re uploaded by their authors. We apologize for the inconvenience and will be working towards normalizing the system over the course of the day."

The good new was that I uploaded my file again and it went WAY quicker than when I did it with their newer (now history) Library.

Regards, Mike Mann
