There comes a time when you really need help. Last month was one of them and I found myself with a dead computer and without the where with all to purchase another Mother Board. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
More in desperation, I put out a thread asking if possibly someone would have a spare mobo that would carry a 775 socket.<o:p></o:p>
I was pleasantly surprised when Doug, known as “Loganpass” contacted me and said he just happened to have one. He shipped it right away via UPS. I was amazed; he had sent me a state of the art Gigabyte mobo. Complete with 2 GB of Crucial memory and a, oh my god, big monster heat sink for the CPU guaranteed to bring the CPU down to below freezing. To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement.<o:p></o:p>
But I would like to publicly thank you Doug, your generosity is truly appreciated. It is typical of the friends I have made on SOH. There all very high quality fellows.<o:p></o:p>

Just goes to show you that there are still a lot of generous caring people in the world willing to help.

Yep, lot's of good folks on this site who show that generosity and kindness are not dead traits. The entire computer system that I am using right now was given to me by a forum member...and he recently shipped me a 120gig external HD and a 20 gig portable HD to round out the package. The system I have sitting in the closet waiting for a few replacement parts and a rebuild to become my wife's dedicated system was also given to me by a forum member....complete with a ton of software.

In spite of what we hear in the news there are sterling individuals still in our world. All the boys and girls here at SOH are considered my extended "family".

HD, enjoy your new system. I know I'm enjoying the Plum Island scenery I just purchased.
