When News Wants To Be First Without Checking

...and it was cleared by the NTSB as well...

Yes, and despite this being done by a young intern who went way beyond his actual authority, Asiatic Airlines is actually planning to sue the station!

This surprises me. Frankly, that airline has enough problems currently on their hands than to file a lawsuit against the station.

and the station will sue the NTSB and the NTSB will tell Asiatic Airlines to drop any idea of a law suit.

But bias aside, it is really standards that have dropped in the race to satisfy their target audiences.

I've believed this for some time now. I'd argue there's more to it than that, but will obey forum rules and keep my mouth shut. I do sometimes believe in such a thing as a proper venue. Sometimes.

The media only continues to prove that what was portrayed in Anchor Man is totally accurate! :icon_lol:

I thought for sure that had to have been a joke, until I saw the apology from the same station saying that it was from a "reliable" NTSB source.. :pop4: Common sense! Think about what you are saying.. Nope, just read it off of the teleprompter and hope for the best.. KOIN Local 6 out of Portland is the same way, biased and unconfirmed reporting!

I was following a story about a shooting in Yakima, WA where a man was shot with a shotgun while standing in his driveway.. Media reported the name of the person and then posted a picture of a guy that had the same name. Next thing you know the guys sister is on their FB saying that the guy shot was not her brother and that they need to take his photo down because it was not him .. Finally, it took the guy that was actually in the photograph to clear it up saying that that was his picture, but he was not the guy from the shooting and that he had nothing to do with it. So they just grabbed some poor guys picture, probably from FB, and posted it along with the news story. Top it off, it was gang related so that doesn't help posting some other poor guys picture all over the news. I hope this all makes sense, I am starting to get rummy!

Every played the game "The King of Siam"? There's always some poor stiff repeating "Oh wa, Ta na, Siam" as all around clutch their sides in helpless laughter. He just doesn't see the joke, but I doubt the graphics for this news 'story' went through without someone noticing. Surely?

Me, I laughed until my sides ached! :icon_lol:

Should anyone be a trifle brain-dead in this properly hot summer weather, or just knackered from a hard day at work, the joke above is "Oh what an ass I am". I do hope you find this helpful. :kilroy:
