• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

'When Online Role-Playing Gaming Goes Over The Edge'

Good grief!

I really don't know how to exactly formulate my negative reaction to what this nutjob did!

Ken

That is rediculous, and only got 2 years for attempted murder to boot... What in the world are they thinking over there. The person intended to kill the man. Should have been life in prison, or the death penalty. Especially for something as silly as killing his character in a video game..

Hey there's a lot of nut cases out there. And most don't get the time they deserve when prosecuted and sentenced.

Good grief, that dude needs to get a job or at least a membership to a gym for stress relief. I'm sure that in six months he would have gotten over it if you know what I mean.

Hopefully two years from now he will have grown up a [LINESTRIKE]little bit[/LINESTRIKE], A LOT!

Watch out who you kill in the virtual world, it may inspire someone to attack you in the real one.

I guess that this statement doesn't apply in France, "An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life."

An armed society is a polite society.. Unfortunately in most of those European countries handguns/self defense is illegal. So anyone wanting to commit crimes has a high likelihood that their victims won't be armed, or retaliate for fear of being thrown in jail if they survive. Is a very sad situation as I think every human has a right to defend themselves by any means from being killed, or attacked w/intent to kill.

This is what happens when people take their stuff too seriously.

Legal, uncontrolled, unbureaucratic possession of guns wouldn't change a thing or actually make it worse since, in this case, you'd have a classic case of murder and not just an attempt.

On the upside, if all the idiots out there settled their differences with guns instead of just fists the gene pool would be much cleaner...
