• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Will it have everything included in it will do away with the need for the patch? I thought I had downloaded it but now I'm not sure. There's nothing to confirm that I have this CFS3.1a anywhere.
I've tried looking for it on Google, typed in 3.1 and then 3.1a but nothing shows up.
The agonies of trying to get OFF2 on either Vista or XP, without a cardcarrying, universitytrained expert in OFF2 are hard to come by in darkest Dorset.

Thanks Cameljockey, just another example of how the OFF community makes the world a smaller place...... cheers!

If your CFS3 is already 3.1 (Many in recent years are) then you won't need the patch. Our installer will try to check what you have during install.

Thanks for that Pol, someone was trying to tell me that even if Combat Flight Simulator 3 Official Disc said that it had 3.1, that it would still need a 3.1 patch and thence followed by a 3.1a patch.
Sitting here with CombatFlightSim3 on both a Vista machine Intel 2 Duo E6850 and a Pentium 4 (3.40 Ghz) with XP, an OFF2 disc but minus a dll file which remains obstinately hard to track down, I can only say that I'm impressed that my patience and my fingernails are intact!
Keep up the good work, you're nearly there!!

Are you missing the msstdfmt.dll file? If so, I can email it to you along with install instructions for XP and Vista.

That's the very one. My brother tried to tell me how to get onto the program but I failed and he's also failed to get OFF2 up and running too.
IF you could send it, that would be great, but I'd need very precise directions in how to make use of it. It would be going onto my Pentium 4 CPU 3.40 Ghz with an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT graphics card. With XP Home. If your gizmo installs sweetly on my machine. I come ammunition-less and let you shoot me down every day for a month and smile while you're doing it.....

Thanks CMLJKY!
It stopped at the loading of the missions calling it a fatal error on 56 percent. Am trying again. The rest of it "seemed" to go through OK. Am keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the email Cameljockey but my third attempt to utilise your attachment has again failed.
It read Fatal Error - Installation of OFF Phase 2 Unsuccessful
Then four lines down
Progress 56 last action.
Each attempt has only got as far as 56 to 61.
This was using an OFF disc sent by another fellah in the UK.

Many thanks
