Not a Chippie unfortunately as I wouldn't want to steal Rick Piper's glory. I have seen pics of a fully FSX native one he was working on and it's superb. Unfortunately real life has prevented him from doing any development work recently.

I don't want to sidetrack this thread but mine is an American 4-seat GA, born at the end of WWII and originally designed/built by a famous company of some repute. They are still very much sort after to this day and at least one current company specializes in restoration work to bring them up to 21st century standards in terms of fit and finish.

Okay Larry,
Good one! What kind of Chipmunk devotee wouldn't like the NAA Navion! Of course, I guess I can't specify a particular variant, so maybe a later manufacturer would suit you better, but nevertheless, it's a good choice!

:applause::ernae::applause:

I plan on doing a late model first (but no glass cockpit...real gauges for me) then the L-17 type early model (two piece windows all round, original engine and minimal avionics) and finally (if there is enough interest) the Twin Navion.

F-100! This is obviously the only aircraft that anyone would ever fly in FSX. The Hun was the first, last, and only aircraft that ever mattered in the real world - and it should be that way in the sim world as well. My god -- if we had a Hun -- I would be happy forever. Nothing is more beautiful, philosophical, intellectual, or important that the F-100. This was the real airplane, everything else is just an approximation of its greatness.

F-100 Super Sabre.

To hell with every other aircraft ever conceived. F-100 -- The only way to.

F-100 -- Our one true hero.

F-100 -- The best.

F-100 -- I would die to fly one.

F-100 -- I'd sell my soul to the devil for an F-100.

F-100 -- she crushes the hearts of men below her wheels, like a woman crossing the street in high-heels.

Navion?

Saw this nice example while out and about last year (at W45, Luray Caverns, VA). Thus picture is for you Tako_Kichi. The pilot had nicely modified the plane with enhanced avionics, new interior and a bigger engine. A very nice example of the type.

I'll be watching this.

Also, no bad feelings about the missing glass. I've got Rich S.' model for that.

If you're taklking about the N.A. Navion, then count me in!

It has always been one of my favorites.

Been wanting an early model version for the longest time.

I'll be watching with great interest.

The Navion is all well and good but back on topic ..I still want a Sea Fury !!
Thanks Skippybing for the link, watching with interest...

Yes,
I could have posted many more aircraft, but I needed to generalize it somewhat, and also condense the response.

Thank-you for your list.

Joseph

Tom,
Thank-you for all of the wonderful photos of the 170. So of the two (170A, or 170B), which do you prefer?

A lot of variables in configurations portrayed there. It is a versatile aircraft in many ways.

Joseph

Deffo the C170B. It has a way more sexy round tail and it has flaps that do actually work! (40 degrees semi fowler flaps) :)
