Who Is Pete Yorn?

Anybody ever hear of Pete Yorn? Well I hadn't, until recently. I found this FM music station run out of one of the local colleges here. They play a lot of more obscure music. Obscure to me in any case, but the main reason I listen to them is that they don't play any commercials, all of which I cannot bear. Either I'm getting old or commercials are getting more annoying. But, this station does not ever tell us loyal listeners who the heck is singing the darn songs! So I have to memorize a sentence from the lyrics and Google it when I get home! So, Pete Yorn. Never heard of him. Off to find the CD that has this song on it.

When I was a pup, and living in Corning, N.Y., the local community college there had a radio station that played a similar venue. I became somewhat diversified in my listening habits then.

Great sound. Looks a lot like Jim Croce, or Cat Stevens.

Small world, grew up outside Fulton NY.

The Youtube video posted is more of an “acoustic version” than the one on the CD, but I like them both. And as for Bob Seger, ok fine, but, you'll have to pry my cold dead fingers from my Celine Dion CDs!

I had never heard of the guy, until I bought the "Break Up" album, which he released with Scarlett Johansson. I must admit I really enjoyed the album and think it's well worth checking out.

Hey, that's good stuff, thanks, arrowmaker. Never heard of Scarlett Johansson either, but she has a great voice and style. And she's hot too!

What's really cool about the song in the video that arrowmaker posted, is how the seemingly totally different parts that he and her are singing, come togther at the end and are "revealed" to be in harmony and fit together perfectly. That's cool. Love stuff like that!

It's OK PRB,

We are here to help. Just because you like Celine Dionne that is no reason to go and off yourself. Everyone has different tastes it's not such a big deal.

LoL, just kidding with you. Not one of my favourites from my country but to each there own. If you heard my favourite Canadian act (Skinny Puppy) you would probably wish for god to remove your eardrums before you could be exposed to such noise again.
