I work as a Defence and International Affairs specialist. My interest areas are Far East and Ex-Soviet countries. So, I follow Russian changes with close interest. They really bought back the Tu-160 Blackjack. Now, the Russian Federation is reorganizing its Armed Forces. The idea is have a slimmer but more professional force. They are refiting its Su-27, Su-24, Su25, Su-30 and MiG-29 fighter force; are receiving new Su-35 and Su-34 and new UAVs. Lots of detail at RIA-Novosti site.

By the way, you can hijack my post anytime when you have important info to share...

I think I got everything Pepe needed finished: two freefall nukes, AS-5 and AS-6 missiles....with a lot of sweat, my limited FSDS skills and a heap of help from TR looking over my shoulder and lending a hand. Truly I labor in the shadows of giants.

Cool. I used to work the START and INF treaties with the On-Site Inspection Agency (OSIA), now DTRA, as an interpreter and iinspector from 1993 to 1998, when I retired from the Army.

Remarkable. Even tho i try to follow such matters..and have friends in Russia who help, I learned more in reading these two pages than i have in five years of research. The Naval side is similar. Many of the subs are grounded, sunk or so far gone that they will never be brought back. Same for support vessels and ships of all classes. It is tragic after a century and more of effort to build a two ocean deep water navy, but it was so expensive to maintain ships in the artic environment..and there were major moral problems in keeping skilled petty officer rank types who really run any navy. You can find satelite pictures of the "mothball" read junk fleets and it is very sad ....but for the purposes of disarrmenent and world peace, a good thing. If either of you have info on the naval side, pls post or start a sep thread.

I see subs of the class of Delta III, four Oscar IIs, four Akulas, and a slew of older classes (maybe Victor IIIs?

I believe a couple of the old boats are old diesel boats old Foxtrots I did spot a pair of Kilo class SS boats and out by itself in the bay at one pont there was an Delta III. There’s also what appears to be an Alfa in a floating drydock to the southwest.

In the northwest Russia’s Barents Sea region, there are/were 118 scrapped nuclear submarines...since 1959 Russian built 450 some naval nuclear reactors....

I joined Lazlo Beck Soviet weapons to Nole's work. The Tupolevs have now a very complete bombload, including thermonuclear, nuclear, antiship and a 19,000lb conventional bomb! I'll realease it in two packages: Soviet and Egyptian. After that, we'll build some Xian versions that are still active.

I uploaded the Tupolev 16...

in pilot and AI forms. Only one bug, common to jet in CFS2. You need to fly the plane in Free Flight BEFORE fly it at Campaigns and Missions that begin at the air. This is not necessary if you take off with the bird.
