AGGF is one of the craziest darn places to land that I've seen. But we made it this time. Coming in from the sea, I've been being too hot and high. I came in from the other direction this time and after brushing the treetops on short final, I got her down and then it was stand on the brakes. I still was going over 50kts when I went past the end of the runway and into the brush. At 40kts, the ocean was coming up fast, so I hit the left brake trying to do a 180. Finally managed to get it stopped.
There I was in the Pilot's Lounge (aka "Tiki Hut") enjoying a cold one, when I heard the sound of a pair of R-2800s going to full power. Looked out the window and there was the Harpoon taking off for points unknown. Hope who ever swiped it has the same luck landing it as I've had.
Catching the next flight back to Santa Anna and "Plan SBD"....
