Win7 Fresh Install

As is normally the case with me, nothing goes smoothly and without incident. After rolling back to Win7 this morning I found that system icons are missing, install programs claim that the drive that the installer is on isn't accessible. When I click on a drive I see folder titles, but no folder icon, desktop program fail to function or are missing. . .and on and on. I have decided to do a fresh installation of Win7, however because the backup function doesn't work (most likely due to the rollback function) I have been forced to copy everything I want to save to another drive. I've moved or copied about 200gig of data and I can only hope that I have everything because once I shutdown Win7 and load the installation CD I'm committed.

Anyway, just a HU that if I'm missing for several days you'll know why!:banghead:

Before you go dark Ed....You've got company.

Windows 10 install and drivers updates were great....blah...blah...blah.

Today, I had one goal. To remove a seat cushion from the Tigercat via Gmax. Thats it, a five minute deal start to finish.
As it turns out, Win10 installed updates at around 0400 hours when I booted up for the day. I went to Gmax....quicksand. I've spent 16 hours attempting to repair, including a full re-install. No joy.

As it stands at this moment, Gmax is a complete POS, but the good news is that the incredibly annoying Windows Tabtip popup that I decommissioned with prejudice is now back, uninvited.

Migration tool is currently MIA as well, which is handy because I popped for the new B-17-F today, but can't install in P3Dv2 without the Estonia tool.

At this point, I've poured a glass of Vodka and I'm rolling out the .50 cal...right in front of the offending box.

Good grief! I thought my missing icons and quirky behavior was enough, but that?. . . .Man sorry to hear that Gman, especially considering the volume of work you're in the middle of right now. Hope you're able to sift through the mess and get everything back on track.

I'm back online, but only just. I am currently moving files and folders back into the C: drive in hopes that most things will still function. I'll have to do a reinstall of FSX unless I can run the Flight1 registry utility and get that back for me. I'll just have to wait and see. Touch and go for now, but I have hopes that most things will be back to normal by the time the sun comes up here in North Texas.

Good luck Ed!

Let us know if we can be of any help!

And Gordon, I'll see whether I can lay my mits on the tool!

I have a tendency to put a lot on my plate Ed, but thanks.

I think the frustration for all of us is that we put a tremendous amount of time into these simulation platforms. When an outside party blows us up without our having any control over the issue, we tend to go ballistic. I've had my share for sure, as have many on this forum.
