Windows 7 Again

I have several CFS2 installs on my new Win7 computer, and so far they are running just fine.
I did notice a few strange things, however:
When I add weapons or vehicles, and delete the filelist from the scenedb-wepons-scenery folder (or inf or vehicles), a new filelist is not created anymore after I start the sim after the modification. Also, it doesn´t create any CDP files.
But the main folder fills with all kinds of strange new files I have never seen before. This is how the directory of one of my installs looks:
Every time I start the sim, more of those funny files appear. I can delete them without any effect on the game, but they keep reappearing. I opened one of them with Editor, this is how it looks:
Has anyone ever seen this? Is there any way to stop these annoying files from appearing?

Thanks,

Hi Skylane,

I've seen this before, but not in Win 7 (I have XP). These files seem to be created if you exceed approx.200 airbases in a single install. I tracked it down after I found I couldn't get new airbases I created to show in the free flight & QC drop down lists. OK with missions & campaigns, just no show for QC & fre flight.

I had to junk the install & start afresh - leaving the Aleutians to a separate PTO install.

The non-appearance of cdp files & such sounds like a read-write permission thing. Win 7 is very particular about allowing progs to write back to the programme folder, or if user permissions aren't set up right, to ANY folder for that matter. Might be worth checking if you have admin privileges for each of your installs (& sub folders). I'm assuming these installs are outside the default program or program(x86) folders?

Hope this helps.

UncleTgt, thanks, you sent me on the right track!
It was some security thing that prevented filelists and cdps from showing. I changed thhis, and now they show again. And those strange other files do not appear any more - Problem solved!

So,in my case it had nothing to do with too many airbases, as I have less than 200 in any of the installs that were affected.

Thanks for your help!
