Windows 7 question

Eoraptor1

SOH-CM-2022
Alright then. I've FINALLY gotten all my CFS2 install to operate (almost) properly in Windows 7 after a mysterious and sudden refusal to do so last year. I still don't know why they stopped working in the first place, but that's another issue. Right now, the only thing the program refuses to do is reduce and maximize. Once I reduce the program to the task bar, it refuses to re-maxinize, and the only way to turn it off is to open Task Manger, and shut it off from there. If anyone else has had this issue, I'd be very interested in knowing how they dealt with it. Many Thanks.

Nope

Sorry James. Windows7 has always worked for me. Some minor hic-ups at first, but now 99% of my CFS2 stuff works. The 1% I attribute to AVG, not Win7, and I found a way around that.

Thank you for answering. This is useful information. What was the problem, and was your workaround?

Win7 problems!

Well, it was back in 2011. As best I can remember, one day after AVG updated I suddenly got errors on each of my Theater Installs.
For some reason AVG didn't like one file in each install. Start up failed on each Theater. It was the CFS2.ICD file in the main CFS2 file that was the hangup. It kept identifying it as some kind of mal-ware or virus. After consulting my computer guru, we decided it was AVG that was screwy and there was nothing wrong with my ICD files.
I approved it to AVG and no more error message.

Since it happened I've had repeated errors of the same sort on applications completely unrelated to CFS2. Same message, and I did the same thing. AVG just has a bug about some files.

Additionally, I ran into a CFS2 addon that wouldn't run in Win7. It would run in XP but not in Win7. I can't think what it was but it'll come to me. Let you know when it does.

To minimize CFS2 in Win 7

Do not click on the "-" icon in the upper right corner. Instead, use the window key on the keyboard to minimize CFS2. It works that way.
