Oh heck yes ..

There have been a few problems in FSX with some(some, not many) third party items and aircraft i have been told
 
I've been running Win7 since early summer, and I've yet to encounter a problem with installing an add-on or sim flying in general.
 
Been running Win7 64 bit for awhile now and never had a problem. I think MS got it right this time. Even the beta version had very few problems.
 
The only problem I ran into with Win7 and FSX was installing sceneries. But someone here can easily help you out if you run into problems. Don't worry, it is easily solvable.
 
rgr... I just posted on that issue in a earlier thread.. but adding scenery works now:applause:
 
LOL... actually having to select a filename. Well not like FSX guys saw that coming.:icon_lol:
 
I'm expecting to get my version of Win 7 (premium home) at the end of this month. Looking forward, but I still have one question:
(- I have Win XP sp3 and a lot of software I need for my work.)

Is it possible to install Win 7 in dual boot mode? ( so that I can make a choice starting computer with XP or Win7, I intend to run FSX under Win 7, of course)

It sure is, Dieter. I have two hard drives, so I reformatted one and installed Win7 64 on it, while keeping my original XP Pro to boot into for "real work". At least that was the plan... since I loaded 7, I've only gone back to XP two or three times to use programs that don't work right or aren't available for 64-bit platforms. I'm not sure about the procedure for installing a dual-boot onto a single disk, but with two disks it's super easy.

Hard drives are cheap these days. I'm running a dual boot system and the setup is very easy. FSX runs much better and faster under W7 64 bit than XP 32 bit.
 
Thanks for you answers so far.

I have one 500GB harddisk with three partitions.
C:\ is for Win XP and my software
D:\ Only for FS2004
E:\ is free for any use
So can I install Win 7 on E:\ and could I make Win 7 dual boot directing to use E:\ or must it be on C:\?

Win7 should work on E without any problems. A partition should be just as good as a separate drive. I have Win7 on a secondary drive, with XP on drive C. When you run Win7, your E partition will show up as C and the others will be reassigned.
 
Only real problem with dual booting on a single drive is that if you loose the drive..you loose it all.
 
^ True, that's why I like to buy a new drive with a system build, then put the old one(s) in as backups. At $100 for 1 TB drive, it's cheap insurance.
