I just got a Windows 7 system and I am trying to configure a compatability box can any one help me get rid of the streached look in a wide screen monitor? and what mode should I run it in Windows 98/ME or what. Thanks.:salute:

CFS2 doesn't need to run in compatibility mode. If anything, you can install it into a different folder than the default (for instance into the c:/users/public folder or a different partition) to avoid hassle of editing CFG files as Win7 protects all folders in the Program Files folder against editing (UAC). The "streached" look/you mean Streched, right? should be easily resolved by setting the in-game resolution to the same resolution as your desktop.

My exact idea of a user-friendly OS! Another gem from Microsoft, I guess I'll stick to my Win XP Pro SP3 for another few years to come......

Live with it ! We need more security. I think it's a reasonably well implemented must-have feature (much more usable than in Vista). There are plenty of reasons for bashing Microsoft, but in my opinion this should not be one of them.
I'm sure that once you start working with Win7 you'll be more than happy to let go of XP.

Brothers, I was not a fan of XP when it first came out. I LIKED my 98SE. Didn't see a thing wrong with it. I got used to using XP at work after all of the SPs and now am a fan of XP. Vista, was originally a nightmare. The IT guys at work are saying that now, Vista and Win7 are really close in structure. That being said: I have my OEM 5400RPM HD with XP and my 7200RPM HD with Win7X64 on this laptop. I have XP on my PC OEM HD and Vista on my second HD in the PC. Both have 4 Gigs of RAM and high end graphics cards. I do all of my CFS2 work in XP, and map to it in Vista and Win7 to play. So far, no problems playing CFS2 in either.

I will say that Win7 is stable, efficient (with highend system), and very user friendly; SO FAR.
