The Fairchild Super 71 was truly a unique airplane (Peculiar?) It was an all-aluminum plane which first flew in 1934. Originally it had the cockpit behind the wing ala the Northrop Gamma series. Only one was produced with this configuration as the test pilots really complained about the lack of visibility. Three more were made with a more standard cockpit arrangement in front of the wing, the Super 71p. I found 3 views of the first, but not the 71p.
This plane looks like it could have been the "Beaver" of the '30's, but it didn't catch on with anyone. I like it so am proceeding with the design. This is a very early look.
