Some screenshots of the Rollus's F-8 painted up as a few Marine Birds. These are in 4096 DXT5 textures. I'm redoing the vc as well. First up VMF(AW) 232

Truly great!! As Rollus is due to circumstances more or less offline, this certainly is a great move for newer textures, especially for the VC.

Cheers!

Awesome - when I saw the thread, I was really hoping for a '333 paint. Favourite scheme on the F-8 and F-4.

Thanks so much!

Very nice. Was at Beaufort,SC when they were all there, except the 232 bird that was when I was in Hawaii.
I don't know if they were the E models I was there for the 1st ones think it was VMF122 that was the 1st east coast squadron to get them so they changed the sqd. name from the "Candystripers" to the "Crusaders". At the time of the transion to the F8 all the squadrons had been flying the FJ-3 except for 333 the had a mixed bag of FJ-3s and FJ-2s. Must have been one hell of a transion for all of them.:)

I'm glad you guys like them. It may be a couple of days for the release. I'm changing the vc around to better represent an E model. I'm also putting a gunsight in place of the HUD. And there's a couple of texture mapping issues with the 235 bird.

Where would In find Rollus's F-8 ? I've tried avsim and flightsim . Tried searching under Rollus , Crusader and F8 .

Found It

Must have been looking under wrong name . Flightsim.com had fsxcrus.zip and I believe it was dated 2008 and was FSX/sp2 compatible . I love AlphaSim's but you better have a big runway to set it down in . I see a 235 skeem , absolutely outstanding . Can't wait .

That's right I'm using fsxcrus.zip. The 235 textures are giving me a time. The bottom of the fuselage isn't mapped the way it should be. I may not be able to put the stars all the way around the intake.

Just uploaded to flightsim.com. All four textures and a new panel and some new sounds. I decided not to paint the bottom intake because of mapping issues. We'll just pretend some damage was repaired and it hasn't been painted yet. Check the 235 folder as i painted the bird that flew with it's wings folded. There is a pdf file with the story and photo to prove it. Some screen shots of the panel:
