Wireless printing problem

My wife has a 2013 Mac Book Pro. I have tried for years to print wirelessly to our Brother printer. No luck. Is there a Apple app that might solve this problem? NC
 
Had the same issue with my wife and her Mac, googled up the fix (or lack of) and it ended up being a new all-in-one HP OfficeJet. I did have to install the HP app on her Mac, but she is wireless printing and of course using all my ink!

is the printer recognized at all on that Mac? is there a connection?

What might help is to connect the Mac to the printer via usb, and then install the drivers of the thing. After that, try to do it via wireless.
