A couple years ago or so ago, I picked up 4 or 5 airplane model kits at the local Salvation Army for a buck or two each. No instructions in any of the kits, one had no decals. No biggie as they are just going to be ceiling hangers...just a bit of aerial decor to add to my office/sim room. Well, this evening, I worked on 4 of them. The Texan I am taking my time with and doing it up as nicely as I can...which really aint all that since I haven't built a model in 20 some years. The Mig 21 and Brewster Buffalo....they both had missing cockpit parts and the 21 had no decals and the Buffalo's decal were all dried up and crackled. They got a rather hasty glue together and rudimentary paint jobs. The BAE Hawk....it ain't looking too shabby....not sure how the decals on it will fair though...they look a bit overly dry.
It was nice sitting in the living room, a couple old TV trays covered with model parts, glue and paint, a WW I air warfare movie playing on Net Flix...can't remember what it was...it was just on for back ground noise.
