Works In Progress and Schedule

I thought I would post up some info about my works in progress and real world itinerary.

I'll be very busy with my move out of California for the next two weeks. The actual move date is around the 23rd of this month, but I'm not sure how long it will take to get satellite installed at the new digs. If I go dark for a couple of weeks, it is because of the move.

I've been devoting most of my time to the re-model and getting packed, so the WIP projects have only gotten early AM attention. The C-47 is pretty well up and running, so now I can get back to my works in progress, which include the F-7F VC, the Abrams P-1 Explorer and a project I took on about three months ago.

I haven't been able to devote much time to the new project, so I haven't posted any pics. I did take a few days to get a flying model completed with animations and new UVW mapping. Once I get the studio set up after the move I'll be starting the interior model and VC. This is Matt Ivey's exterior model, so the finished airplane will be a collaboration between Matt and myself. Matt provided an exquisite model to use as a foundation, but I'll be expanding things from this point. The model will be FSX, FSX_SE and P3D compatible with all the bells, whistles and eye candy included.

The possibilities for Buffalo skins will be endless, so I'll be including a comprehensive PK as well.

The pilot figure is a place holder courtesy of Milton Shupe and Jan Visser. Animation by me.

At this stage, the model is a flying "buck". I'll be adding bumps, spec and other bits once I get the final modeling completed and UVW mapped. That said, it is definitely worth showing at this stage.

Fantastic!!! My TBD Devastator could use a period appropriate escort... not to mention they both look fantastic in prewar markings!:jump:

Thank you sir.

We are organized and pre-packed so it should go fairly smoothly...I hope. It will feel good to get away from the ski resort prices...cost of living here is higher than Hawaii!!! I'll be right on the ocean, so that will be a big change from the alpine desert.

Nice thing about the sim, I have extensively modeled KMMH, KBIH and a few hundred square miles of wilderness. When I start to miss the place I can come always come back for a virtual visit. :encouragement:

Bet the Finns will be all over this one within seconds. You probably won't even need to include a sample livery. Just the paintkit. :biggrin-new:

Great to see Buffalo in the sim Gordon. Having moved recently... I hope things go smoothly. So much to do.

Matt

Good luck on the move, Gordon. Hope it goes a LOT smoother than mine has. Still haven't found everything! And my FS rig still not up and running properly.:banghead:

The Brewster Buffalo! I luv it. :applause:

A very important aeroplane in the development of US naval aviation. Although a very poor performer in Allied hands.

Brewster Buffalo Progress

Today begins packing the truck for the actual move out of CA. I'll be offline for a week or two, but I wanted to post up the latest work on the F2A Buffalo.

Here are some shots of the Brewster F2A Buffalo at its current stage of development, which is now a light study to get the bump and skin lighting appropriate for the model.
The model is rendered in a basic grey, white/specular skin with bump mapping fairly well developed, but very much a WIP.

At this stage the specular levels will be fine tuned to suit the actual service skin and bump map heights will be fine tuned.

Gordon, all I can say is that you must be a very patient man to go into all that detail. The model is spectacular...

It's looking great. Man, we really are being spoiled with so many great aircraft on the way. That isn't a complaint. :)
