I have a lot of material left by my Father In Law concerning his exploits with the AEF in World War One.
It covers all his movements complete with tons of photographs of aircraft and dirigibles that he encountered, along with ground equiptment. Cannons, tanks, trucks and horses.
There are scrapbooks containng both American and German maps showing troop movements. Plus engravings made in France along with cartoons.
There is so much material, too much to catalog.
I'm looking for a serious collector of such stuff who would be interested in it en toto and not pick and choose.
To the right person it would be free of charge.

If you are going to give it away, give it to a museum. By doing so, many will enjoy it. If you give it to a person, only they will enjoy it, IF the items don't find their way to E-Bay.

AEF Memorabilia

SMITHSONIAN AIR AND SPACE.... contact them through the internet...just a thought, that kind of material deserves that kind of museum..

I was lucky enough to have visited the SASM recently at Dulles. They have an entire section dedicated to WWI aviation.

Yours is the kind of material that needs to have a home where it will be treasured and shared with all who appreciate it's importance.

The Smithsonian is the way to go.

I ran across the Natinal World War One Museum in Washington and that's where it will go, Arthur was with the 6th Air Park, 822 Aero Squardron.

I am glad you are going to do what I suggested. Being in the business, I know what some people do with things like you have. You are holding great educational tools, and they should be shared with many people. Thank you!

Excellent decision Helldiver.

My Grandfather was killed in the last week of that war. With my parents gone also, I have very little to go on to find out what sort of a young chap he was (he was 22 years old) and what he experienced. It is collections like yours in the right museums that allows people like me to research, discover and learn.
