Would be tempted to attend this, but.......

This would be about a 2 hour drive for me. Doable, but would spend the night, and not sure I want to shell out almost $100. Now, if this was a convention? Yeah sure! But just to toss a few brewskies....nope.

Saturday October 2nd at 6:30pm Atlanta's Airport Hilton will host the 2010 AVSIM Social, all flight sim enthusiasts in the area are invited to this informal event. Each attendee will be responsible for their food, libations and save conduct to and from the event. Located at the Airport Hilton, 1031 Virginia Avenue, we should be easy to find! just look for the flight sim crowd in the bar area...

Their socials at a convention aren't worth a 2 hour drive IMO. Last one I went to in DC had about 20 people attending and probably 5 of them were from Transload.

I don't think AVSIM has had a convention since 2007. Attended that one (in Seattle), which I enjoyed. But when the economy crashed, that put an end to things for a while.

All the conventions since, that I know of, have been overseas.

I don't remember what year it was except that it was the convention just before the release of FSX and was near Dulles Airport. I remember meeting Moe there along with a few Transload pilots. Tom Clayton being one of them. I think it was the last one they had. I could be wrong. Tom or Moe might remember.
