WTH: chronic pop-up

One of my folders (Pacific) gets suspended in time when this pop-up appears. I've tried to take it @ it's word but a 'few moments' go on forever (well, overnight anyway). I'm assuming that it is related to my latest scenery installs (PNG 2 & Truk) but taking them out of the CFS2 'scenery' file doesn't remedy the problem. I just thought of a couple of other possible fixes but I'm stumped so far.

Are you running the scenery directly? Or, are you using the scenery cache?

You might want to try looking at your scenery.cfg and see if you're using the scenery directly.

Otherwise, I'm not sure.

Suggestions...

Greetings, OW;

I'm probably repeating info you already know, but I had a similar challenge with the latest Pearl Harbor scenery recently ~ here's what fixed it:

- delete all filelist.dat, *.cdp, and *.dbk files

- delete all INDEX files from the root directory of your installation.

The filelist.dat's and INDEX files will be rebuilt when you start the program again. And, for our newest members, let me list the exact Index files to delete:

AIRWAY_INDEX
ICAO_INDEX
INDEX_FILE
LAT_INDEX
STR_INDEX
WAYPOINT_INDEX

Good luck and let me know if it cures the challenge !

Go into the SceneDB folder and into each scenery folder there and delete each filelist file. Then see if it finishes the regeneration process on startup then. Worth a try?

Sc7500 statement about the PHP scenery got me thinking. I had already removed the scenery folder from SceneDB but had neglected to remove the afd files. When I did so, the problem resolved itself.

It's always something simple....

....ONCE YOU FIND IT. :faint:
