X3 Patrol Logs

It really is mind blowing to see all those stars and think that each star could have many planets. That means multiply the stars by say 4 or 6 and you have the number of planets and stars... (if that is a good average). Figuring our system has 9, and a close one has 3.

Having Stargates would be a pretty cool thing, as well as a fleet that could fold space and go to distant Galaxies.

...... I remember sitting outside on a starry night and just counting stars......

:isadizzy: - this is the closest to the smiley I can connect... to the stars...

... so much fun, relaxing.... and rejuvinating.... :running:

Patrol logs for new run of AMS missions coming soon. This is a fresh start. :d

I hated to lose all those credits but the old run just wasn't going to work even with the 2.6 upgrade. I was stuck moving from the Asteroid belt into the Mars sector, and that just caused the sim to come to a halt. Half a billion credits gone down the tubes...... Change is good as I've learnt from the first run how to make more credits even faster being a mercenary. And promotions have come faster too. Still addicted? You betchya! :d

Well Gary there would be no foul if you cheated up the credits for the new start, after all you did earn them the hard way to begin with and you are only losing them due to a fresh start... thats just my opinion, but really if you think about it you did the work abd earned the credits, and the only reason you don't have them now is because of technical issues outside gameplay...

Good idea guys but there's a cartch. I've no idea how you'd carry credits over to a new start.

And did you guys carry your credits over? If you did or will, then I will too once I find out how.

Gary I most definately did, I had half a billion "HARD" earned credits and didn't feel one bit like it was cheating to use that as a starting point, I earned them all, and lost as many in hardware and pilots in combat.

The way to do it is with a script or with the Cheat package which will allow you to add credits to your pilot. If you have the Cycrow Cheat Package there is an "Add Credits to Player Account" on the main menu, if not either grab it, or let me know and I will tell you how to write a simple script to do the same thing.

Thanks Mike. Just got the Cheat package zip by Cyrow and have it extracted to a folder. To add it do I just copy/paste the files to the Script and T folder in main game and overwrite when prompted? Gotta make sure I do this right. ;)

The best way to install the Cheat Package is with the Cycrow's Plugin Manager you can grab it here - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cycrow/

Before you go for that though, are you using the full AMS Mod or the X3R AMS Gunbus mod? The full MAS mod includes the Cycrow Cheat package already so you would not have to install anything new. To double check just open your ships command menu and if you have the "Custom" menu, you will see a few entries for loading /reloading Apricot Ships etc... and #4 will be Cheat Menu, open that and half way down is "Add Credits to Player Account", that's the one I use.

Well I havn't posted a "After Action Report" for a long time - and this is not going to be one...lol

I have been tweaking my X3R and getting used to it again and finally got the XTM mod set-up the way I want it, what a great job these guys did on that mod, it is easy to see why Ergosoft made it the basis for Terran Conflict.

If anyone wants to start with Reunion, I highly recommend the Xtended Mod, the visuals are amazing and extra effects are very well done. It is not easy, and there are not the simple cheats like in TC, but it is a great sim on it's own.

I'll try to post some screen shots later this week, and a little AAR once I actually complete this first mission I am on.

Well, I finished the HUB plot, and moved on quickly to the PHQ plot. My gates are set up for Kingdom End/ Three Worlds, Family Whi/ Shareholder's Fourtune and Inter Worlds/ Sacred Relic

PHQ was a cinch compared to the time it took for the stock HUB plot.

I've got it set up in the Unknown Sector East of Nathan's Voyage, there are occasional incursions by Kha'ak Scouts, but a M6 patroling the sector takes care of them. It's running on reverse enginering all the unique fighters I've capped or found over the course of the game. Now I start making the ships I want into my fighter wing!

Well done, I never did complete the HUB plot, I got side tracked both times I started it, I must go back for another go when I start up TC again. I am having a ball with Reunion extended right now and want to finish a few things there before I go back to TC.

I just found a totally new race and some very cool ships including a Dyson Sphere station, which just blew me away, I was so tired last night I just parked but I'll get back at it later tonight.

OK I was in one of those moods I just felt like Blowin Stuff UP!:pop4:

You know what I mean, I just had the need... so I fired up X3 TC and I decided to kick some space butt! Man was that ever fun... I loaded up a save game I keep just for this purpose and jumped into my supertuned F14 and slipped over to the nearest Xenon sector, well they had themselves quite a little party going on when I arrived and I had to call in some backup. I called in my Hailstorm Destroyer and one of the Evader Corvettes - I have several but I didn't want to overdo it...

I watched with great satsfaction as the Hailstorm and the Xenon Carrier duked it out, what a site, and do those Xenon Carriers ever make a purdy fireball when they go up...lol The Evader was pretty busy with a couple of interceptors and that left me with a dozen or so fighters and scouts, which are mostly canon fodder for the F14, but it is very satsifying, and they are quick so it is not like shooting fish in a barrel or anything, there is some challenge involved. Once we got the place cleaned up I took a look around and there were 16 abandoned ships just waiting to be claimed, talk about your pay days... I also spotted 8 or 10 pilots floating around so I called in my Evader TP, I use it as an SAR ship and I ordered it to collect all Astro-Pilots, while I claimed my salvage. I rounded up all the ships and ordered them to follow, and things went well until the reinforcements arrived. The dam Xenon came back in droves just like hornets buzzing all over, so back to battle mode... It was pretty hairy for awhile I ordered the bigger salvaged ships to Fly to Sector - and left the smaller ones in Follow me mode - I knew they could not keep up so it would not be a problem. The battle was fierce, and I finally prevaled, lost a few of the claimed ships but I only took minor damage. Back to ordering the claimed ships to fly to my safe sector, it was kind of like herding cats, they were all over the place and some of them were pretty beat up, the best speed we could make in formation was 27, so it was slow going.

There was a couple more smaller battles along the way, a couple of stray Khaak patrols jumped us and the odd Pirate took a shot here and there, but we finally got most of the straglers safely to a nice well patrolled sector with a good shipyard. I sprung for repairs on all the ships then had a yard sale, it ended up at close to 10 million in sales, I figure I cleared about 6 after the cost of repairs and the missles I used in the battles, not bad for a couple hours work, and the light show was a bonus :). Oh little tip here to, I discovered that you don't get anything for the freight on a ship when you sell it (in this mod anyway) so what I have been doing is exchanging out any and all cargo and weapons to one of my large Super Freighters before I sell of a ship, surprising how much money I was missing out on by selling off loaded freighters and armed ships....

I did grab some screen shots but for some reason I can't get them to load, I resized them down below min size but they fail each time I try to upload? Oh well I will get some more next time.

I do have to tell you the Transcend Reloaded Mode is like a whole new game, there is a completely different story line and a wide selecvtion of new ships, Oh and the Universe - totally redone something like 90 brand new sectors and some really amazing eye candy.

I have been messing with IL2 and LOMAC for the past week and was enjoying that somewhat, but everytime I come back to X3 it is such a blast. I can hardly wait for the superbox now, and I really hope the XTM team gets their new mode out soon, we get long winters up here but this will keep me busy.

Be careful out there folks, Live Long and Prosper...

What a great story Mike! Loved it. I felt like I was with you in battle, lol..

90 New Sectors!!!!!!!!!! Unbelieveable... I must have it.

I need some stick time in space. Watching all the episodes of Farscape, one a night, and its got me back looking at the stars again..
