Yak-130 reworking for high resolution 4096

Nah....I simply can't find a photo of what the camo and markings look like on the wings....

....so I side-tracked to draw the number 'fonts' used by hand.....couldn't find a font set for the '02' either....the ones I'd used so far were cut from a photo....and looked it

Sounds familiar. Normally I start searching for the correct font and in the end draw the number by hand. And you will only find the correct font once you finished you hand drawn fonts.... :biggrin-new:

The repaint look great Jafo :encouragement:

Cheers,
Huub

This one's finally 'finished'. Took a while to draw the popup canopy latch....got that from the Video of the model.
Had inadvertently added an error I'd resolved earlier...so took a bit to reverse it.
In good old English slang....the pilots look a little 'naff'...so maybe need to see what can be done there...;)

Huub...yes...can't count the number of times I've done a detail/font by hand only to subsequently find 'the easy way' straight after...;)

Now, the paint above is with my altered model with [among other things] a less virile spec shine.... but here's the same paint applied to Hadi's original.
I wouldn't be able to upload/release my ver of the model without some form of prior consent.

I've given up on the Belarus....still no idea what the topdown looks like...and that's pretty much all of a 130.

Main thing is...I have drawn all the numbers....0 to 9 in both sizes [front-side fuse and rear-side fuse] so the kit is 'complete' in that regard...;)

Time to find a different paint than the Belarus...to see how the kit handles a new one.....one that has sufficient photos...;)

Well....01 has gotta be significant....and has the '130' on the back end...so was one to paint specifically....
Has a few differences so took more than a simple repaint....the bump had to change too...;)

Has the sexy new stars with the blue line... and the big 'IRKUT' Logo on the tail.

I's driven me nuts chasing another anomaly....pretty sure it's some kind of 'hole' in the model rather than a paint issue....though in the meantime I DID find something that was never actually painted on the original skin....and painted it...[the ends of the tailplane]...;)

The latest anomaly...what looks like green 'lines' in the exhaust ducts...

My little burners take yer eye off them...;)

Strangely the lines have disappeared.

What's more frustrating than finding a problem....is having it resolved without knowing how or why...;)

Sometimes these things happen. This is in the same category as "why do my lines only match when I save the textures in 32 bits format?"

I think it is because the textures are processed in the game. But that is just a wild guess.

Cheers,
Huub

Doing one more...before uploading them...and the kit.
This one will be 'red 52' a 'camo' version in 3 shades of blue....;)

Early days.

I've just uploaded the Paint Kit here in PSP format [for PaintShop Pro - in my case v6] and shall also compile it for PSD as well...;)

Yakovlev Yak-130 High Resolution Layered Paint Kit for Hadi Tahir's model of the Yakovlev Yak-130 for FSX, in 4096 detail resolution. The original Aircraft release was textured in 1024 and required only 3 images. This Kit includes the layered aircraft bitmap in PSP format as well as the matching 4096 resolution bump-map bitmap in DXT5 DDS. The pilot bitmap is unchanged as yet. Requires Hadi Tahir's FSX native model - https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2237/fsx-yakovlev-yak-130/ ......by Paul [JAFO] Martin.

Always liked the 'Digital Camo' when applied to a paint....as there's little need to ever align the colour bits...all being straight-edged...;)

Every time when you do another paint you find more anomalies.
This last one had a 2-tone paintline...and those forward wing-roots have an overlapping paint....shared with the root and what's directly under it in the side elev.
So... if your waist-line goes 2 tone you either have a wrong colour on the root...or below it.

Of course, one 'solution' is to average the colours...so they are both only half-wrong...;)

First fiddle with the Bangladesh AF ver...;)

NQR at the moment.
