Hadart,

Do you have a diagram or guide as to what is clickable in the VC? I was trying to manually start it, and find the light switches, without success as I couldn't find enough clickables. Other than that, looks like a beautiful model inside and out.

Thank you for the diagram. The plane looks and flies great, but I have a few more questions/observations:

1. Where are the controls for the navigation lights?
2. I noticed that the HSI seems to be moving very erratically and in the opposite direction in some turns, like a wet compass would. Just an observation to test and fix if possible.
3. Any plans for additional functionality?

A few weeks ago, I saw a documentary on NatGeo TV (Air Crash Investigations) that addressed a simular problem.
From what I can remember:

It was about an aircraft (can't remember which type, but european/american) of the company "Swiss" who employed a lot of russian pilots.
The crux of the story was, that the aircraft eventually crashed because Russian pilots are initially trained (on russian aircraft) with a HSI that works the opposite way; so (in this emergency situation) they interpreted the HSI info the wrong way.

So maybe it's intentional ??

unfortunately there's no switch to control the navigation lights in the vc because we don't know which one is suppossed to do it.
if we know more about the cockpit, about the function of every switch etc, may be there will be additional functionality.

Hey, this Yak VTOL thing is kinda fun once you get the hang of it - sorta. :biggrin-new: I popped up (literally) out of NAS Miramar, transitioned to conventional flight and did a loop around north of the base. Came in way too fast to Rwy 24R then rotated the exhaust down, throttled back and settled onto the runway real nice - although a little farther down than normal, LOL. Not gonna try to get aboard a ship yet, I know my limitations.

If you can find that, I'd be interested in seeing it, because a fundamental feature of any HSI (and one of the key tenets for it's existence in the first place) is that they are not subject to magnetic compass errors while maneuvering, since they are gyroscopic instruments. I strongly suspect a misunderstanding or that the documentary is incorrect.

Anyway, it's Hadhart's (and team's) addon, so if that's the way they want to implement it, it's up to them. This'll be my last comment on that specific subject.

I'll see if I can dig up more info on the cockpit...otherwise, as already stated, nice addon, thanks for the contribution to the hobby, and I'll look forward to more aircraft from you in the future, Hadhart.

Many thanks for this plane. Great job! I reckon it'll probably be the only Yak-38 ever done for FSX, too. It's always nice to see some new Russian planes. They're certainly "different" to our Western eyes.

I recall seeing that as well. It was an Aeroflot-Nord Boeing 737 crash at Perm, although it was due to lack of familiarity with the Western-style attitude indicator, not HSI. Very sad...
