YB-40 for CFS2??

Nope........its may be a Studebaker

1934 Studebaker Dictator.........

It has engine cowl vents and...............the downturned rear wheel well

Moreover, the flatter non-Ford roof

I hate it when people beat me to the punch,

But I was ALMOST gonna say Studebaker myself! But what about the headlights?

Not the Car ...........but a interesting photo

This is the photo that made me believe the mystery military vehicle was not the 1934 olds or buick.......vent on engine cowl.......... horizontal..

So that is the fun of photo investigation (what is year and state on the plates below)........which was the point of going from YB-40 to Waldo

Also, to segway back to YB-40.............B-38.............stark difference between 1934 technology of the just post depression auto industry and the shine of the new aluminum mid 1940's WWII industrial machine or aircraft industry............ the plane looks altra modern and futuristic..........

Here is also a rub...........................1934 the cars seem to look alike.......

I mean..........very much alike...........

but............do you think 75 years from now..................they will say SUV's all looked alike?????? ...................could be...........

Just some stuff to make you go ...............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??

Who say's California.......

They look like california ................nice weather all the time.... golf.............

Maybe Palm Springs Photo shoot????Dealer plates maybe not 1934 but somewhere around that time

Full Circle........back to YB-40

Ok.................I can now come back full circle to YB-40

Dave Eckert .........B-17G.............for those who aren't familiar.....

There is a basic model to build from..............for a Yb-40.........

Sorry, I've been out of town. But you folks have been busy.

Too bad the old forum discussions have been lost. probably why I couldn't find any references to the YB-40 on the CFS2 forum. Seems like it would have been discussed at some point. However, I still think the plane was never created for this sim or any others. It doesn't even show up as a CFS3, FSX, or FS2004 plane on the ususal sites (flightsim, avsim, simviation etc...).

I'm lousy at making planes. But I had the same thought you have about the place to start...a B-17G since the chin turret is already there.

Imagine if someone did create a YB-40, how difficult it would be to attack in CFS2 with the standard settings in the game for the gunners. It's bad enough how accurate the Val back seat gunners are. You would need to tone those boys down a bit to reflect reality, but oh the tracer would put on a show. :applause:

The closest thing that I have found is a B299 (forerunner of the B17) at simviation downloads/fs98/page 10. It will fly in CFS2 without much tweaking if any. It will need a DP. Just borrow one from any B17.It is the early type construction of fs98/cfs1.Not to up to date. Its been a long time since I have seeen someones thread so badly hyjacked.I'm suprised there has been no other comment about this.
