Yes Saratoga Baby Is Definitely Out

Cool

I ill ask

I like their planes-->very FPS friendly-->have 19 of them-->but usually on such questions(Mooney other cut on the instrument board to be able to use other avionics) get a short stubborn NO answer

Lets see

That's because the knobs and switches are modeled...it would require a new model be done for a 'flat panel'
At least we didn't get the old stuff as before....:icon_lol:
I would love to hear what they say about the panel paint...I'm with you...I own everything!

Woohooo I've got the fuel flow so it gives a bit over 800 miles range at 16000 feet. I think that is just about right.

If anyone is interested in the modifications, I'll contact Carenado and see if there's a way I could distribute the cfg file or if it is OK that I post them on here.

nice adjustment...........

I too would love the turbo cfg ... :jump:

Has anyone tried putting the RealityXP 430 or 530 in the panel? I'd love to get some hints on how to do this...

The company I work for has a Saratoga SP (1981, Turbo & retractable gear). Range of 800NM is a bit on the long end. Challenge with the Saratoga is that cylinder #6 (back left cylinder) runs very hot. You can only cut fuel flow back to about 18 GPH even at 16,000 msl. Below that cylinder #6 exceeds 400 degrees F. I plan on 500NM for trips including IFR reserves which is often an extra hour or more of fuel in the tanks at landing, so I'm guessing 650nm - 700nm is total range with no reserves.

Is there a person or a company I could pay to make a specific paint job on the Saratoga. I'd love to give a thankyou gift to my bosses that have the Saratoga with their paint job and N-number. Any ideas?

Thanks for any thoughts on any of the above questions.....

Doug

Do you have a link to a picture of the aircraft? There are many repainters here who would probably be able to help you with your request, for free of course. :engel016:

Doug...Post pic's...I'll volunteer for a repaint....
And...I have to retract what I said about the knobs being modeled!
It doesn't look like they are!

So this may open it up for other avionics.....

No problem Doug...Just get them pic's to me....:icon_lol:

The thing you will find here is the ability to draw on quite a bit of knowledge. And people who will help if they can ,help you fix what is wrong.

And the majority of the good painters seem to hang out here....

Just look at the 'Arrows'....and the grid...A lot of misalignment!

And of course no way could I leave out the over the top texture pull!
Happens quite fast...Yes?

But.....She is a great plane! And most of the painting problems can be overcome!

Now if they only do a Piper Aztec...I can die happy man..after I paint a few hundred of them of course.

The worst mapping on the plane is on the bottom rear, where the bottom texture meets the two fuselage rear textures. It is way off on one side, but not the other. It is hard to explain. It is wreaking havoc with my stripes... :frown:

First thing I thought of was the texture being turned or canted?
But yeah it is off quite a bit.

Hi Guys,

I've been thinking of getting this as well to paint it... so disappointed to see all the UV mapping 'challenges'.

I painted their 182RG a long time ago and I swore I'd never do another Carenado because of the UV was so limiting. I see some things never change, I guess I should not... :monkies:

I so wanted to do a 'slightly used' version but it looks like that will not be possible since the weathering will just get stretched into oblivion.

What a pain in the ar*e, visions of lovely paints... :pop4: gone. Hehehe...

I am so sad... I am beyond consoling. :(

Ok, maybe if I had a few beers? Hehehe...

Cheers
Butch
