Yes Saratoga Baby Is Definitely Out

I've been stalling as long as I can to see if anybody was going to post first but... :)

The first thing I noticed flying the Saratoga, was that the mixture control lever had no effect on the fuel flow or engine performance adjustments. I was judging the lack of fuel flow adjustment by watching the digitial performance gauge on the right side of the panel and hearing no change in the engine sound, while changing the mixture lever position.

Checking the aircraft.cfg file in the [piston_engine] section it read:
"fuel_air_auto_mixture=1"

Changed that to read:
"fuel_air_auto_mixture=0"

Now the mixture lever actually works.

Is there some logical reason why it was set up on auto-mixture or was it just a slight goof?

For my modification, I think that should be set to "=1". Turbochargers manage the fuel/air mixture, correct? I noticed in a beech baron turbo conversion it is =1, so I'm guessing it should be on mine.

If someone's interested in testing my modification, please throw me a PM.

Well....I think I have found a way to lighten the dark shadows?

A good 'spec map' and play with the alphas a little....maybe ...I hope!
Still a 'WIP"

Wow! N6362B is STUNNING! Well done!

I posted earlier that I'd love to have a paint scheme for the plane I fly in real life. The two guys who own the company I work for have a Saratoga and they let me fly it for free. I'm very grateful for that and would love to share an FSX Saratoga model with them that is "their airplane". Several of you suggested posting pictures of the actual plane here .... so I'm doing that.

Would anyone care to take this on as a project? Let me know what I need to do to help make that happen... I'm happy to pay a fee or to make a donation to a charity of your choice in your name ...or ....open to other suggestions....

Just a HU.

Carenado has the official update/patch for that non-functional mixture lever on their "Updates" page.

Has anyone had luck installing RealityXP gauges in the Saratoga? I'm going to do some panel work next weekend and would appreciate any advice. I have FS Panel Studio which I have used in the past for 2D panels but never before for 3D panels.

I am really loving this airplane!

You do want the manual mixture control to work. The turbocharged Saratoga has manual mixture control. There is no automated control of mixture at all. Would be cool if it did though....
