Yf-23a pav 800

After many a wish for this paint scheme to be done properly, I decided to take a whirl at it myself. I've given PAV 800 the proper grey color scheme, with the properly colored yellow outlined red hour glass painted on the underside. Essentially it was too black in the stock scheme with the FSD YF-2A. If you're interested let me know, and I'll package it up.

Ah....the option that SHOULD have won....;)

Well, it does look better than the F-22, but:

"The Lockheed and Pratt & Whitney designs were rated higher on technical aspects, were considered lower risks, and were considered to have more effective program management. It has been speculated in the aviation press that the YF-22 was also seen as more adaptable to the Navy's NATF, but by 1992 the U.S. Navy had abandoned NATF."

Sounds good...I'll make a few additional finishing touches and release it here this week.

Another one (with slight edit)... :)

A couple of the real deal...

I’ve asked it before, but: the horizon line and other symbology like the Flight Path Marker in the HUD are consistently too low. So: the horizon line is beneath the real horizon. And it stays there during flight and maneuvering. Does anyone else have that problem, and even more important: can something be done about it?

Yes I believe you can simply use an alternate HUD gauge system..I've not actually done it...but I'm just about sick of the almost fully transparent HUD symbology in dawn/dusk setting that I'm ready to replace the HUD completely...I'm sure it's possible.

As for the VC shots I didn't change any textures in the VC. Unless you're just curious as to what it looks like in general?

I really wish they would release a redux on this bird and fix some of the bugs...but in particular some of the external modeling errors in shape of canopy and fuselage. They are minor but it would be awesome! My guess is that only true YF 23 fans care! Lol

I'm also aware that this is a milviz designed bird, so if it is ever.redone my guess is that it will be done correctly :) and the.repaint will be far and away much better than my humble offering! But for now you're stuck with mine, unless.someone else has one hiding away somewhere!!

This is one I found on turbosquid...it's of the Milviz quality and would love to have one at this standard level brought into FSX/P3D someday.

If you scroll through the images they have 3D user walk arounds... would love to see a release of 3 models...the prototype YF23..the F-23A and the NATF version...tacpack powered of course! :dizzy: But I'm just dreaming ATM. I'm a huge experimental and prototype aircraft guy so I'd always like to see more of them. How about the rest of you?

I've been meaning to get around to modeling a lot of prototype aircraft and aircraft conceptual designs, including what you mentioned, the A-12 (Because I have very accurate drawings with cross sections as I think Piglet did a great job with basic three views, but now so much more detail could be done), the Boeing Model 987, the Northrop P700 (USAF version of the ND-102), Northrop VATOL, the Rockwell ATS, the Northrop Christmas Fighter, etc. The problem is, I don't have much in the way of free time atm. I would love to see Dino make the stealth Tomcat, but I only have a top view of it. I know people who have 3-views of it, but they aren't sharing, at least not yet.

Yes. I'd also like to see the early xplanes... such as the X-1E, X-5, and especially the XF-92A.

Good News! With Putin warming up the cold war, I'm sure will see this coming back to real life..... soon. :encouragement:
