Yo, Dutch Simmers !

^^^^^^ Dornier Do.24!

It was restored so well that if required, it could be made airworthy relatively quickly!

Was not there because we are currently studying the effects of the extremely heavy defense cutbacks and the personnel reductions (at least one out of seven! has to go) in the Dutch Armed Forces.

I saw the announcement by Hans Hille on television Rene. So far it is just an announcement and the actual reductions could still be less. The armed forces have been shrinking for the four decades already, so it didn't really come as a surprise to me.

As there is currently no clear enemy and a huge lack of money, measures could be expected.

I really hope you will be on the good side of the cut.

Take care,
Huub

Very good SADT, it is a very impressive machine!

Sorry, mate. I see that from a different perspective, and from the inside of the funnel :salute:. But then again, this is not the thread or place to start a discussion about this subject (my wrong ).

I really hope you will be on the good side of the cut.

Thanks, i appreciate that! :wavey:

Great to see that Dornier Do-24 restored. I must visit the Soesterberg Museum soon. Been stationed @ Soesterberg AFB between 1996-1998, and had billiting right next to the museum :ernae:

Missed you last Sunday, René, but I understand that your job is way more important to you! We'll see you next time! :salute:

Great to see that Dornier Do-24 restored.

Don't think they've done anything to it, since it's property of the Hendon museum and on loan for twenty years (IIRC).
