Your Opinion on my Bombay Baboon

Hi to all,

I have just made (in Photoshop) a cartoon figure that I name "The Bombay Baboon", which I intend to use in a fictional repaint of the Bristol Bombay, along with the 4 non-fictional ones I will upload, as a bonus extra repaint for those who will download it.
I titled it THE BOMBAY BABOON in order to alliterate the B's (there are 3 b's in the title).

I attach the image. It will appear on the port side nose of the Bombay on a background of dark earth.

I would then like your opinion:

Should I leave it square as this image is or should I make the black background round or oval?
I chose black so that it may contrast well with the dark earth background of the camouflage color.

Or would you have another color to propose--except white, which will clash with the lettering?

Your tastes matter and will be taken into consideration in the degree that is possible.

I have been working on this repaint for so long that I now think I am suffering from acute Bombay-itis and need to get my head examined....

I would begin by cleaning the edges of the primate (white ) on the color borderline with the black background...
After all, a real life paint would have smooth edges... this looks obviously like a cut and paste job...

Now you see... that is what your comments on Allen paint job of the Baltimore sounds like...
Not very nice to say things like that, is it? Let's be sensitive to peoples efforts however meager they might seem...
it is their best shot... I think the cartoon is cute... and your effort not bad... of course, I am a consummate graphic
artist and could go on like the beginning of my post... In other words, keep trying you are doing fine...
One thing I learned in my 75 years is that folks who live in glass houses should be careful when they throw stones....

Thanks Gaucho,

Well-said-- I will take your advice--the edges do need cleaning..
In the meantime, I changed the black background to round instead of square and it looks better.

Thanks.
