Ah, the memories... Sitting on the hill at Mosport between turns two and three and feeliing my chest actually vibrating as the Porsche 917/30 went by! Also remember the cooling fan shaft on one breaking thus creating the first drone flight. Wonder if they ever found the fan?:biggrin-new:
 
Amazing car that 917/30.. 1,200 hp in race trim, over 1,500 during qualification. Gijs van Lennep commented that he did most of the laps in first and second, barely reaching third gear on the main straight. He kept his left foot slightly on the brake all the time, to keep the brakes warm as they are not really up to the job.

An interesting entry in the Pre-war sports cars class was this Hotchkiss AM80 Streamliner, apparently built for the Brooklands track:
