Virtavia XB-46

This is exactly what I like about Virtavia, they model the planes that many others wouldn't touch. I'll be picking this up.
 
Same here. I really like the h3avy hitters but sometimes it's nice to just jump on kick back and.fly someth I ng for pure fun. I wish some of the big boys would put some effort into these neglected types. Go Virtavia! Now make a XF-92A!! ;)
 
Going on this way, I think that when I bought the Skyhawk it was the
last time I did a purchase from Virtavia.

XB-46 looks like a very interesting aircraft.......looks more like a high altitude recon platform than a bomber.

And here's hoping for a Hughes XF-11 in 2017......or maybe in 2018......or maybe not......:very_drunk:

I'm in for all the reasons mentioned above. Always thought the XB-46 was a sleek looking ship for the time then again I am a straight wing jet fan.:encouragement:
 
LOVE these old 50s jet prototype designs, and so good to see Virtavia going for the more obscure designs they did back in the Alphasim days. I'll be supporting this one when it comes out!
 
Welllll......I've pulled some books off the shelf and had a look, and after some reflection and bouncing the question off some aviation-engineering friends at the pub, we are all in general agreement that (in fact) the real world XB-46 did in fact have a design feature generally termed, "cockpit."

Further inquiry has led me online to the Virtavia company website, and a catologue of their beautiful virtual aircraft replicas. This has revealed in fact that they all have a feature collectively deemed as,"cockpit", or even in some cases (what I would term),"flight deck!!"

This has been most revealing for me, and it is with relative pleasure that I would offer an answer in regard to the question, "What about Virtavia XB-46 Cockpit???", as most assuredly,............."yes."

I can assure you it will include this feature by the time it released. And I'm fairly certain you might even get to see images of it before then. Stay tuned.

Xb-46

I just picked it up last night. Flies nice and smooth, but seems over powered although I did do a quick flight with only 25% fuel so maybe fully laden it will bee more sluggish. I didn't check real world specs for the thrust of the engines. It also seem to roll pretty rapidly for having such a big wingspan but there are spoilers that extend for about 1/4 to 1/3 of the length of each wing panel in addition to the aileron so maybe it's accurate. (They don't work together as an airbrake however.) The skin looks pretty good, but I have a very modest machine so it may look way better with a better graphics card. VC looks pretty good, but minimal controls. (Good enough for me for display flights!) I'm happy Virtavia puts out the weird and overlooked stuff! Now if they'd only re release the TSR2 for FSX!
