Fixes for the Shupe/Carroll FSX native Beech 18

Many thanks Milton.
I was searching for the elevator trim wheel such as on DC3 but I think that trim is on the Lear autopilot !

Francis

Francis, when I built this model in 2004-2005, I put the trim adjustments where they are in the RW aircraft I modeled from at CAF.

See the screenshots please. :)

EDIT: David Carroll did not modify these features in his FSX native conversion and they still work today in the Bjoern's updated version.

The trim adjustment we put on the AP are AP controlled adjustments, not trim wheels.

Work In Progress

I've been working on my "personal ride" the past couple of days. Had it pretty much painted late last night and when looking at it in the sim, decided it just wasn't speaking to me and scrapped most of it. Nothing going on today, so I've been busy busy busy with it.

The paint itself is finished and these shots are with the alpha layer added. Which leaves me the specs to get kinky with.

And making a new drive thru window.

One of my all-time favorite films.

For Paul Mantz, one of the finest flyers ever, to say something like that about flying through the billboard, tells something about just how hazardous some of the aerial work was for this film.

You're on a roll Willy :applause: :applause:

I'm patiently waiting to see and try out the results of your creative mind :jump:

The billboard was special built for the stunt but the filming was delayed a few days and the materials which were supposed to be a bit wet, dried out making the billboard harder and tougher than originally planned. Oops.

Decided that it was too light in colour. Went for some darker shades and to polish things up a bit more.

It needs some fuzzy dice hanging up in the cockpit!! :) Looks nice!

Don

Funny you should mention that. I got a pair from a Gee Bee I did that I forgot to add to it.

The exterior is pretty much done (with the exception of those darn dice), I've redone the vc panel in a nice burl walnut and I'm going to have to get the pilot squared away for Twin Beech operations. If you're flying a Twin Beech, everyone knows you're supposed to be in a Hawaiian shirt.

I'm planning on starting to fly it in our nightly flights tonight. Purely for QC purposes on the paint ya know. It's a difficult job but someone has to do it. LOL

That's a very smart looking paint Willy :applause:

I'm afraid to say those white walled tires are going to get real muddy on the bush strips :jump:

Pete.

Glad you like it. And funny you should mention it but I'm looking at some C-60 Lodestar upgrades as well.

Tried out the new Beech 18 vc panel textures last night online. Haven't tried them yet, but I'm pretty sure they'll work for the FS9 original as well.

And I got this ol' "scruffy" looking one ported over for testing and a possible Flight 19 floater trip.

I did an around the world flight in FS9 in this one so it's an old friend. One of my early paints for that sim.
