an N3N for FSX

Pull that finger out of your ear and tell me about that black hole in the nose. Not seen that before ( according to the slanted shadow from the right side (and other photo's) looks like an opened panel..)

Still struggle with FFG and GmaxMaxBridge, no luck yet..

Love this particular engine config, the cooling ribs and small engine nacelle. *IF* i get the chance i'll certainly add that to the collection.

If you'll allow me, I can do the conversion for you and have it back in your hands within minutes, depending on how simple or complex the model is. Let me know :)

That IS 'cool' lol - funny - I never noticed until now that there are SIX spreaders on this airplane! Why is that I wonder? Could they not get the rigging tight enough to keep
from banging together in flight?

It does look like the panel door is swung upward...I was hoping you could tell me what it was...Access to fill the oil reservoir was my guess -

Could very well be, found this too, same bird :

Btw, good look at the port side of the aft fuse here. The flat panels running from where the guy stands and to halfway underneath the horizontal stab could easily be removed. After each flight of the float plane they would be removed so the inner aft fuselage could be hosed down to remove any residu of salty seawater. Nice touch, huh.. ;-)

Dunno about the spreaders but will ask Bill or Russ. During initial N3N work i was in contact with a great guy who owned a N3N. He could be frequently seen at vintage fly-ins. Have to see if i can contact him again..

For the record before anyone gets too excited. I'm doing the gmax to 3DS Max conversion, Jan is doing the final conversion from 3DS Max to FSX/P3D. The converted virtual cockpit has been sent to Jan while I continue converting all external models from gmax to 3DS Max.

Very inspiring to have that sweet little yellow bird back in Max again i can tell you.

Lots to be done still apart from reassigning the materials and redoing the anims so keep taking large amounts of oxygen while i keep you posted about its progress every once in a while ( please don't ask how it's going next week, Ok ?...)

Good News

That is great to hear and will look forward to adding it to the training fields' hangers. Working on a special one that will be a new never before done WWII USA training field with custom buildings and all grass runway area which is why I chose to do it as really unique. Maybe by the time you are done with the N3N I will be done too. Keep up the awesome work you do. I am subscribed to this thread so whenever progress is posted I will know. Those of you in the USA have a great holiday. The rest of the working world don't work too hard.

I've retired my horse whacking stick for a Happy Dance lol - and I don't DO happy dances.

Much Appreciate euroastar350's efforts and assistance in getting the N3N rolling again - and thanks Jan, she gonna be an epic kit before too long I firmly believe !
