A2A WOPIII P-47 Out Now!!!

Was ready to purchase this one until I saw the 36$ expansion pack.. for nothing else but some systems simulation and improved sounds..Talking about greed..I think a 42 $ model should have the fancy sounds and simulations included. They did the same with the Stratocruiser..Horrible sale practice ,no deals with A2A on my part.

I would like to correct you on the price of the WoP3 P-47D. The WoP3 P47-D Razorback costs $35, not the $42 that you have quoted and the expansion pack is $30 not $36. Your description of Accu-Sim as "nothing else but some systems simulation and improved sounds" implies you most likely have never experienced it. To be honest the time it takes to develop the system/engine modeling for an Accu-Sim expansion for each specific aircraft is far too prohibitive and costly to give it away for free.

The total cost of the WoP3 P-47D with Accu-Sim expansion included is $59.98. Some people make the very unfair mistake of looking at this $59.98 price-tag and thinking "for one single warbird addon, no way. That's far too much".

I don't know where you are getting the $78 price from.

You definately get what you pay for on both of the products - fantastic value compared to some of the lower cost products that i have been daft enough to buy which have stupid issues with frame rates and missing textures, terrible modeling and awful flight dynamics.

I wont mention them as they know who they are!!!

I am so finding it hard to fault anything with the P-47

Money is one part of the equation, sure, but there's the model on the other side.
Personally, I think this is the best model for FSX, by an enormous distance. Everything else seems simple and boring, ok, except the Saab Safir maybe.
So in that respect, it seems cheap. I paid the equivalent of $22 for a Mosquito once, and stopped flying it after a week. Here, it took me a week to to take off and land in one piece, without any dull moments..so I think it is relatively cheap.
You think it is too expensive? No problem, don't buy it. I never bought the Stratocruiser, I don't like tubeliners, so I thought it was too expensive. Never any regrets, but I never blamed the company. They make it, they are entitled to ask what they want. You (and me) repaint aircraft, for free. Our choice. Were we to ask money, quite a few people would say "I'm not paying for this, that's too expensive", and that would be their choice, wouldn't it? Warbirdsim was planning on not allowing repaints, and charging us for new repaints. Would you buy any? Don't think so, I certainly wouldn't, too expensive...because I can do it myself.
So, I can repaint a bit, but I can't make the entire model. A2A can and do, (and do it really well), and they want to see money for it. Their prerogative, as it is our prerogative to buy, or not to buy...but I wouldn't call it horrible sale practice, or greed.
Just my opinion, you don't have to agree of course...

OK, one more pic then...

The only problem I'm having with it at the moment is that I can't keep the Cylinder head temperature under 240 degrees no matter what I do. According to the manual I should be at about 200 and should avoid exceeding 232 continuously but even with cowl flaps at 80% and diving to try to cool off the only way to bring them down is to land and switch the engine off.
Which can't be right!
(This is non accusim by the way)

I haven't bought the P-47 yet, but I do have the B377 and Accusim expansion, just to see what all they hype was about. I really had no interest in a four engine tubeliner, especially not an ugly one, but I was curious.

I was blown away. Absolutely amazed! Now, I fly the B377 more than anything else in my hangar. Beyond some fancy systems modeling, this is the first FS aircraft I've flown with an actual personality. Just like an old car or motorcycle, it's got quirks. My #3 engine was hard to start, but #2 always ran hot, usually requiring a richer mixture than the rest. That is, until I mismanaged the carb heat on a hot day and set all four engines on fire! And if you beat up on it, it's shows its wear with age. My #4 engine is the only original one (the other three having been overhauled), and shows all the wear and tear of me learning to start and fly the beast. It's really hard to start and burns about a gallon of oil every thirty or fourty minutes, but also runs cooler and uses less fuel than the other three.

If it's more than you want to spend, I understand completely. I was anti-payware for years. I also understand if you'd rather just fly rather than manage turbos and oil coolers. But I disagree with your opinion about the company's business practices. This is truly an amazing piece of software that pushes the boundaries of FSX probably farther than ACES ever intended.

Intercoolers and Oil Coolers set to at least neutral, 6297J?

If those are closed the engine runs purdy hot.

Yep, both open. In fact opening them makes a pretty immediate difference. With the cowl flaps the difference is slower to take effect and the temps only drop so far. According to the manual, not far enough.

Just for perspective, here is a list of other addons:
Flight 1 Spitfire - $49.95
Aerosoft - Piper Cheyenne X - $46.00
Aerosoft Katana - $44.95
Flight 1 Marchetti SF 260 - $45
Wilco Citation - $44.95
Aerosoft Hughes H-1B - 44.75
Flight 1 Bf109 - $44.95
Iris T-6 - $39.99
A2A Wings of Power 3: P47 - $34.99 ($28.99 for existing P47 owners)

And I've found some time to finish up the basic of this, it just needs apha's and specs sorting now and ill post it on avsim at some point.

Looks good Lewis.....well no, not really, I prefer stars and bars or roundels, but hey, nice paintjob!
But why are you using differential brakes while flying?

Yes this was just for something a bit different, I need to scan in a few profiles for Halesworth Birds before I get back to the Stars and Bars and of course 'interesting' nose art :amen:

Cool, you work on the Halesworth aircraft, I'll enjoy myself in the Pacific...
Meanwhile, I've found another repaint problem, look at the rudder/tail...this is going to be funny if/when we tackle the checkertails...

The Swastika on my tail says its doable :friday:

Its surprisingly easy as well I was able to just cut the half were the rudder is and position it down or up slightly.

simmarket. Razorback costs $41.78 for the model and the fantasy expansion pack is $35.70.Total=77.48 I have another idea for A2A, how about adding some smell simulations in the expension description for another extra 10$. I wouldnt be surprised at all . I do not doubt that it,s a great model, i just dont agree with this kind of marketing tactics...

No offence Yago, and I know there will be none taken, but I've seen you post at three different forums, and at each of those three your posts were in fact the rudest and most insulting posts I observed. So from behind my screen, you appear as quite the jerk, though I may well be blind.
