A2A WOPIII P-47 Out Now!!!

No offence Yago, and I know there will be none taken, but I've seen you post at three different forums, and at each of those three your posts were in fact the rudest and most insulting posts I observed. So from behind my screen, you appear as quite the jerk, though I may well be blind.

I wonder what he is hoping to achieve other than to extol even more praise and support for A2A

simmarket. Razorback costs $41.78 for the model and the fantasy expansion pack is $35.70.Total=77.48 I have another idea for A2A, how about adding some smell simulations in the expension description for another extra 10$. I wouldnt be surprised at all . I do not doubt that it,s a great model, i just dont agree with this kind of marketing tactics...

So let me get this straight, you can buy it on the A2A site for $65, you find it somewhere else for 78, and you start complaining about A2A marketing tactics??

Then may I suggest you use the A2A store from this link to check the correct prices. If you have the older WoP2 P-47D, either stand alone or as part of the WoP2 WWII Fighters pack, you will get another $7 rebate off that price.

Total price of $52.98. for the P-47D, Accu-Sim expansion with all rebates.

Yago you are entitled to your opinion and I actually respect it and even understand where you are coming from. Having said that you really aren't helping your argument by adopting a nasty and derogatory tone while at the same time using the most expensive source for prices. Describing the Accu-Sim expansion pack as "fantasy" is pure fantasy on your part (pun intended). Here is a quote direct from a real pilot. I hope he (or she) doesn't mind me posting this here.

"Hello guys,
Just had to write and tell you..Absolutely perfect.. Thanks very much for the P-47 Razorback, (my favorite bird!), the B377 also, and Accu-Sim. A little digression is needed here.. I have been flying professionally now for quite some time and love to hone skills as it were, by flying MS flight sims at home. As a result, I have always been a huge fan of true realism, ie. engine operation, sounds and flight dynamics.. etc.. In my opinion, when all things are considered, this can be difficult to find in the Add-on market.
I have to say though, your Accu-Sim, the level of detail in your aircraft, and what you have done for FSX, is the most realistic simulation of a radial engine and its limitations that I have seen. The sounds and graphics certainly are better than some Cat A/Level D training simulators that the airlines use. You have brought Flight Simulation to a new level. Exactly what the Flight Simulation community needs.
Keep up the good work."

I hope my points are giving some clarity on our pricing policy and helping to show you what Accu-Sim is really capable off.

That's VAT. Simmarket is EU company and they have to pay European taxes. I'm not sure if this applies to simmarket customers from US, but if you think its marketing tactics of some sort, you're wrong.

Cool, you work on the Halesworth aircraft, I'll enjoy myself in the Pacific...
Meanwhile, I've found another repaint problem, look at the rudder/tail...this is going to be funny if/when we tackle the checkertails...
This "Little Gem" looks great, Jan! :applause::applause::applause:

Talking about checkertails, you will be happy with WS P-51B...

Red arrows are only five examples of many deformation points.
I had to cut this part into 8 pieces to obtain this result (not perfect but correct I think).
I will send you the template if you want to save time or do better...;)

Regards,

Stephan

Wow nice work fellas all the way around!

Mustang painters helping out Thunderbolt painters... only @ SOH! :ernae:

What's next?! Cats and Dogs living together?

Well, first I'll want the FSX version, and you seem to have done quite a few checkertails already, that all look great, so I'll have to see what will be left...
But I did get some more work done on the Gem, slowly getting there...

After I had finally some time to fly and test the P-47 I have to say that this is a true masterpiece. The best addon I've bought so far, indeed the best warbird and all sims I know. It has everything I always dreamed to see in Flight Simulator. For me definitely worth every cent. I rather buy one exceptional plane like the Thunderbolt than two with little more depth than the default aircraft. The only thing I have to criticize is that it's no Corsair.

I am drooling over this plane! In fact I have downloaded awesome several paintjobs by Jankees for it!
The only problem is...I havent actually got it!! :wiggle: Paid, downloaded about 82% of it,then FlashGet had a fit & cant d/l anymore of it-when I tried to d/l my other allowed downloads as mirrors of the 1st,it didnt play ball so now I have no spare capacity to carry on. I have e mailed A2A a week ago but no reply yet-that's surprising as they were excellent about refunding some payment I made when I accidently bought the Strat twice after hitting the Paypal button twice:faint:I love the start, & am certain I will love the Jug too...eventualy :)

Kowalski,

We don't have an email from you or any outstanding support emails, but I looked up "Kowalski" and reset your download count. If this is not you, just PM me your info.

Scott.

Scott Sir, you are a STAR! :ernae:You found me & Im downloading again now! How's that for service, and on a Sunday too!!
I had only planned to drop in to check on the RTW race progress, and had planned to be in bed an hour ago, looks like I will be up all night taking this baby for a spin:typing:

Here's lots of info and performance figures... Pretty much every WWII aircraft is detailed.

This doc here is interesting. This was a standard proceedure for approving engine tolerance but basically before an engine could be cleared for a given War Emergency Power setting there was a requirement of passing a 7 1/2 hour test runt. I wonder how accusim would hadle such a test? I suppose it could take almost 2 hours to find out cuz I think the manual said anything over 4x sim time causes issues with accusim, though I'm thinking Accusim would not allow a WEP run of anywhere near that long. Considering Other add on's I have blow up after 15mins of WEP, whatever duration accusim gives over 15mins has got to be more realistic. I found some 150 octane tests for other engines as well, and there again they required a 7 1/2 hour test at the new power settings.

What did I say-damn all sleep for me ! but who cares when you have something this beautiful to play with...had better not tell the missus!!

It,s kinda wird your passion on debating me again over this issue but hey , at least I know your real reason..anyway, I do not want to create accounts for each payware company outhere so I barely visit those sites.
I,m buying the stuff from simmarket for years. The marketing tactic I was talking about has nothing to do with the price difference..You make an overpriced product than you split it in two packages. Some extra bucks there Alphasim style. At least they give you some ,,extra" visual models with that. This is my opinion and you dont have to agree or like it ,I respect all yours though, without name calling.

Whilst your still moaning about the price - im in here :wavey:

Aren't we lucky to be able to have a hint of the feeling of flying one of these warbirds without a very real chance of being killed by enemy flak, aircraft etc? Wife is only hostile here LOL

The paintkit is available now!

Enjoy! :jump::jump::jump:

Many thanks for the link Epsilon! :rapture:

With that, I have just finished this, will be packaging the paint for SOH later today.

This repaint for A2A's WOP III P-47D was inspired by a decal received in the latest issue of the IPMS/USA Journal, January-February 2009, Volume 21, Number 01.

A special note of gratitude goes out to Jack Morris of JDMC Graphics for the original artwork, Roy Sutherland and Barracuda decals for the decal production, and Chris Bucholtz of Obscureco Aircraft for the sponsorship of this fine debt of gratitude to one of our surviving heroes.

The decal is for a P-47D-11-RE flown by Lt. James (Jim) Ashford of the 379th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group, 9th Air Force. Please note that though I used three of the the decal images for templates, all artwork was redone by me to properly fit the stretched texture given in the paint kit and no cut-out scan of the decal was rendered on the repaint. Fonts used were Amarillo USAF and USAAF Stencil.

As most well-heeled aviation historians know, the 379th FS had a pilot named George Rarey, who had been a commercial artist in New York before the war. Lt. Ashord's P-47 "Okole Maluna" was painted by Rarey and originally featured a Rarey Bird flying upside down, as Rarey took "Okole Maluna" to mean "Bottoms Up". But "okule" means "ass" in Hawaiian, Ashford's native territory, so Ashford told Rarey to use a can-can girl and the rest is history.

The plane lasted through an overhaul and and accident repair before finally suffering an engine failure over Belgian in March 1945. Ashford nursed the plane back to England, but it was written off after landing. Overall, 28 of Lt. Ashford 99 missions were flown in "Okole Maluna". He only had one air combat kill, but the 379th's job was not air combat, it was train busting, and they did their job pretty up and walking good.

Many thanks also for the fantastic paint kit provided for the A2A payware WOP III P-47 by A2A.

Caz

If I hadn't lost my job yago I would be tempted to start an 'Ickie fund' to buy this for you in thanks for all your terrific repaints.
I am a very cynical old simmer who thinks most addons are really not worth the money and a lot of addons I have bought over the years have been uninstalled almost immediately. Some have made me furious!
But since getting this P-47 I have flown nothing else and I am by no means a military or WWII aircraft enthusiast.
All of a sudden FSX feels like a different experience entirey. (And I am talking about the non Accusim version!)
