Virtavia Phantom II Reloaded for P3D v 4.5+ PBR

Just FYI for the ones who don't followed the FSX thread.
I've just uploaded the new P3D v 4.5+ PBR package to the library.

So do I just trash the download yesterday by JF http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforu...Phantom-II-Reloaded-(FSX-P3D-all-versons)-zip (and 20 ported over repaints from old times) and start again with this one? Or can I just swap out the models I use?
Thanks!

Hello expat,

If you like to use the PBR version, its the better solution to replace whole version.
You can use your old repaints but you have to copy and paste the "texture.cfg" from the existing PBR repaints to your old repaints.

The entries of texture.cfg has to be

[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.VC
fallback.2=..\texture.metallic

Cheers

Thanks very much Ulrich - that's clear (and also easy to do).

Just took VF-114 up for a spin and the PBR finish looks sensational. Between this freeware Phantom and the freeware RFN Crusader and dozens of paints one is very spoiled for choice if like me you like hot carrier jets from this era.

Great work all!

Brilliant thank you.

Tried it with Luftwaffe AG-52 livery - works fine and it looks so much better! Just one question: How can I alter the usage of the wing tanks to show up in camo / olive? When I use the load manager, I always do get the white coloured tanks.

Thank you, Noddy. I did overlook this. Hopefully there will be a solution, but I will do some experiments myself as well....

I've just installed Virtavia Phantom II Reloaded for P3D v 4.5+ PBR into P3Dv5 but the sim crashes after selecting a Phantom. Am I the only one? Previous versions work just fine and I do appreciate the work and commitment that has gone into this.
No you are not alone, I don't think this beauty is compatible for v5. I have tried several times even looking at some of the gauges that may be causing the problem. with no results. Maybes someone can come up with an answer.

Unfortunately I cannot check this myself, because I don't have P3Dv5.
The only thing I could imagine would be the soundgauge,
although it is 64bit gauges.

Maybe deactivate the two Panel.cfg entries.
[Vcockpit01]
// gauge03 = Virtavia_F-4_Cockpitsounds \ dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64! Sound, 0,0 ,,, Sound.ini // Plays sounds
// gauge04 = Virtavia_F-4_Cockpitsounds! F4_KeyEvent_SND, 0, 0, 1, 0

Figured it out how to make it work in V5, use this in panel.cfg for the 3 models.

[Vcockpit01]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=128,128
visible=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
pixel_size=128,128
texture=$LHupper
window_pos= 1.000, 1.000
gauge00=Virtavia_F-4_Phantom!Smoke, 1,1,1,1
gauge01=Virtavia_F-4_Phantom!F4LegControl, 1,1,1,1
gauge02=Virtavia_F-4_Phantom!init_weapons, 1,1,1,1
gauge03=Virtavia_F-4_Cockpitsounds!Sound, 0,0,,,Sound.ini // Plays sounds
gauge04=Virtavia_F-4_Cockpitsounds!F4_KeyEvent_SND, 0, 0, 1, 0

Hi Noddy,
Great, that you find a solution.
But did you have cockpit click sounds with this settings?

Thank you, it seems Doug Dawson's 64-bit Sound gauge doesn't work with P3Dv5,
which is a little surprising to me.
