A2A WOPIII P-47 Out Now!!!

As much as I like and would use the beaten up one, it rather looks like someone has splashed and dripped turpentine onto the wings, rather than scratched and faded paintwork.
What I mean is it looks contrived rather than natural. Sorry :mixedsmi:

Yes - I tend to agree with that. Less is more! But its more or less there!

How about some bullet holes!?!?

There is a Paint Kit available, remove the fade etal and do your own. No beef, just that if you have a personal taste, buy the plane, download the paint kit and make it so.

Hi Caz

All 97J and I have done is respond to Jankee's request for feedback and yes, if I had the software required to repaint and the time and skill to create great repaints like you, Jankees and so many others so generously share with us - I would.

I am very quick to praise great work I admire and will never be negative just for the fun of it. I can leave that to others.

And I thank you for your frankness, I even agree with you.
I wasn't completely happy with it either, so asked for an opinion. Realistic weathering is something I'm finding difficult, but I'll work on it! After all, I'm as much painting for you guys as for my own enjoyment, so criticism is appreciated. Really! In this case, if everybody had said 'oh wow' or something similar, I would have uploaded it as it is. Now, I won't, back to the drawing board, and the Photoshop manual...
Oh, and Gajit, you can use the Gimp (freeware) to repaint, now all you need is time, skill just takes time, look at my first repaints and you'll see what I mean...

Meanwhile, I've been working on yet another one, how do you like this one then?

I'm keeping my mouth shut the writing is too big IMO

I like 'Betty' the best so far :applause:

Any more P40's in the pipeline? I'd like to see a metal one of those one day.

Weathering can be a challenge. Here's a really nice tutorial I spotted...

You got that Lewis! :applause::applause:

For me, Simmers Paint Shop is my Bible. Great source for markings (with transparent backings I might add) and Fonts, HEX codes for colo(u)r swathes for use in your graphics program, tutorials galore. Been booked on my computers for at least three years, possibly longer.

I've been a regular customer as well!

But realistic weathering remains difficult I find.

In theory, practice follows theory, but in practice not...

but no worries, R3-G will be back with a new coat of weathering!

No offense to anyone but "pepsi" or any corporate logo on the side of a P-47............just ain't right to me. To each their own!
