The MSFS PMDG DC-6 Livery Thread

Okay, okay...

You all really made it hard to resist.

Seeing these amazing liveries caused me to lose the battle.

I could just no longer resist the itch to get this airplane in my hangar.

Downloading as I type this, and already grabbed some liveries, like the Transavia, Flying Dutchman and the Northwest ones. Surely many more to follow...

I will probably spend the first few hours sitting at the parking ramp reading the documentation, and watching tutorials, while hopefully listen to those radials fire up and purrrrr.

As I am left-handed when it comes to FS2020 aircraft repaints, I want to thank all these artists for their efforts.

Happy flying (I hope soon for me),

By far, the BEST payware aircraft for MSFS (in a class by itself).

Thanks for this awesome livery!

Could you please check the aircraft.cfg attached to this livery? I think the line with "sim=..." is not correct. Could you please verify?
Thanks!

ega

Yes, you're right. The entry is wrong. I will correct the aircraft.cfg in next update. I assume that you are still able to load the aircraft into the sim?

Thanks!. I did change the sim line to the correct reading and therefore I am not sure if it works with the current "sim=" line. In previous simulators, it wouldn´t work though.

DHL DC-6A N104DH | 1983 is available.

This repaint shows the DHL DC-6A c/n 43706 in its last DHL Airways livery. Built in 1951 as R6D-1 Liftmaster for the US Navy with registration 131603, later redesignated as C-118A and flew for the USAF as 51-17652. After its military days, it was converted to DC-6A and flew for Hamilton Aviation as N9041B. DHL Island Airways, based at Honolulu Intl, purchased N9041B in 1979 and reregistered it as N104DH in 1983. It was sold to Pacific Air Express in 1984 and to Panama two years later. The civil registration N104DH was cancelled in 2013. Its further fate is unknown.

Yes Carl, so many people are asking about it, a turbine T206H would be really nice. At the moment I am really busy to realtime jobs and private and have less time to the simulators. But if we have a stable MSFS for developers, I will start. :semi-twins:

nice to hear from you again, it's hard not to give up on these radial engines and these oil and smoke belching tailpipes, welcome to the era of needle gauges in MFS2020

Today I finished my work on Conner Air Lines N55CA after collecting a lot of "new" pictures of MIA´s corrosion corner and its time in Opa Locka. Black stripes on wings are removed.

Exhaust gas areas are now over the whole wings. Wings and engines textures (albedo and composite) are redone from scratch.

Thomas-

She's corroded enough, dirty enough and unmarked enough for me to take her South, out of Corrosion Corner, to the jungle waiting... I shall enjoy many trips just above the tree lines, whilst making my living carrying cargo boxes I never open ;) .

Miama is disappearing into the rear...

... and there's LOT'S of water ahead... she's a hard working girl and she's earning her keep. She may not be the belle of the ball, but she'll get the job done without any fuss.

Pssst, there is a closed airstrip in northwest Mexico Sonora, Navojoa MMNV/NVJ, some black SUVs and Barons still waiting...

Well... we found the strip at Exuma (without any Magenta) and it's just me and my shadow this evening...

... and here she is, all tucked in for the night, at a remote stand, far away from the holiday crowd... cowls tight, probes covered and chocks in place. Tomorrow we continue South!

Thanks Thomas!

Look what you've done Thomas... after decades, starting in 1985 on an Apple IIc.. I finally landed at Gitmo!

I can't believe I've never visited in all these years. Flying the circuitous approach in was lovely.

Thanks!

Danny- she looks great! May I ask, did you create a wireframe to work the wrap around the windows/nose area? If so, would you mind sharing the process of how you went about it... it looks scary from here :)

Gunnar- that’s great, thanks! One of my planned flights is to recreate SUB’s final routing and now she will have all her needed accouterments! Thanks mate!C
