Flew the Fw 190 from the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA, up to the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA, for their airshow this weekend.

I do like that colour scheme. I see that it's a FW 190A-8 replica. Might use that on a 1/72 kit.

Normandy remembered

40 years since the release of the movie 'Goonies', I thought I would take a look at the filming locations in MSFS. Starting out at Astoria, Oregon, making a pass over the Goonies house (AI-generated building doesn't do a good job of matching the real house, but it's there), and then turned south following the Oregon coast to Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock. A very beautiful part of the country, even in MSFS.

I attended the Duxford D-Day event this afternoon. Fittingly there were two D-Day veteran Spitfires flying together in the programme. Both Mk IV's one was MH434 of the Old Flying Machine Company and the other ML417 now owned by the Friedkin family. Both aircraft saw action on D-Day and both had wartime kills. ML417 was a previous resident at Duxford and is great to see her back here after a sojourn out in Chino. Of course this evening I just had to fly my own tribute display to the D-Day heroes !
