Has anyone other than me got it and had a go in it?

It's a bit of a monster,took off this morning,into wind,full right rudder trim,full right rudder,some right aileron and the damn thing still turned left.
We "sped off" across the grass ,just got aloft as the ramp was approaching rapidly and buzzed the tower(read "narrowly missed it")in true Maverick and Goose
"Ghostrider" style.

The thing's an animal,I'd say something seriously needs tweaking somewhere in the files,a Yak C-11 or even a Harvard isn't that much of a wild ride....
 
You maybe could try my airfiles from the CFS2 conversion I did, should be here in the library somewhere (dunno, maybe ask one of the librarians? :ROFLMAO:) I used Airwrench and as much technical info as I could muster to create them.
 
For what it's worth..I just extracted and loaded my copy of the version 2 model and it flies fine on my computer in FS2004.

Oops, just realised you said Mk.III, I did the Mk.I (and variants) only, sorry.
Norm,it flies fine once you get the thing aloft,it's just the prop torque is really ferocious and hard to keep in check,I've had Griffon Spits,P-51's and Bf109's that are less reactive.

DR,no worries,might be worth plonking the Mk.1's air file in just to see if it's less ferocious,though thinking about it,the Mk.1 won't be as ferocious,
it's Kestrel gives less power and it has a longer wingspan than the Mk.III

Hmm...Both V1 and V2 seemed sedate to me. I'll bet my control sensitivities are really mellow compared to yours. My FS2004 has been so stable and reliable for so long I haven't tweaked (or checked) anything for a long time. Other than occasionally calibrating the stick. And I tend to fly puddle jumpers and golden age models.
 
IIRC Norm,my sensitivities are at about 92-93% with a "live" rudder,very much "pinch an inch" control inputs.
I tend to go with P-51D/H/K's,60-70 series engined Merlin Spits,65 series engined Griffon Spits,BD605 engined 109G's,that sort of thing.
I also do like a dabble with a Twin Beech,Electra,Beech Staggerwing,Broussard,Miles Maggie,Tiger Moth and a Jungmeister on occasion.
 
So you are flying the "Big Iron" with probably realistic high settings. I would guess the expert wizzes here might have some advice concerning how the Miles birds act or should act. It's so dependent on settings and the designer's interpretation of how he/she thinks it should fly. My "40 knot" brain is geared to the low-end sport birds I guess. Cubs, Aeroncas, Mick/Dave's Cessna Airmaster, Porterfields, etc.
