It’s a Belgian design that’s why
The Aviasud Mistral was designed by two Belgian engineers, Francois Goethals and Bernard d'Otreppe.
The prototype first flew in May 1985 and the aircraft entered production with AviaSud engineering in Fréjus with the first production model having its maiden flight in February 1986.Aviasud has built more than 200 Mistrals, it has also been built by Ultraleger Industria Aeronáutica Ltda in Brasil.
On May 4, 1987, an Aviasud Mistral was flown to the geographic North Pole by Nicolas Hulot, a world first for this type of aircraft.

One of the ULM who made me dream when I was a teenager. The others were Aviasud Sirocco , Butterfly and finally Aérolite Falcon
All except the Falcon were Belgian and the European importer for the Falcon was Belgian. At the time ultralight was seen like a big opportunity to develop popular aviation in Belgium and some industries. Sadly the authorities were not open minded and continued to invest in dying heavy industries.

The Falcon & Butterfly look great.
The Butterfly is a crazy looking tiny aircraft - wings based on the Flying Fle - luv them. It's not surprising that they made you dream.
Thanks for sharing the info.

Godwin von Brumowski was an ace from the Autro-Hungarian Air Force during the first world war. He was credited 35 air victories. He survived the war but was killed in an crash at Schiphol Airport near Amsterdam in June 1936.

The repaint was a challenge as according to most sources the red base scheme was covered with ocker coloured "Sworl" pattern. Brumowski flew several Albatrosses all slightly different and they all changed looks during their use. So there must have been one which looked like this one.

Brumowski flew Austrian built Albatrosses (OEFFAG), while the model by Stuart Green is an Eastern Germany version (OAW). But the were both based on the same original D.III and especially the earlier versions didn't differ too much. I intend to do a repaint for the CFS2 model by Captains Kurt, as this is the specific OEF model. (I'm really looking forward to another 2,000 Sworls....)

I used much information, which I was able to find on the internet and the Windsock Datafile 19 "Albatros D.III (OEF)" by P.M. Grosz.

After this one it might become a bit quiet from my side as Martin KLein and I will continue on a project we even started before the Fokker Dr.I.

Cheers,
Huub

The German U-boat U-776, which was still in the Lorient submarine pens after they were captured by the Allies, was repaired by the French navy and remained in French service as "NMF Laubie " until 1963. And the Submarine pens are still used for storage by the French navy/

I guess that is the answer you were looking for.

Cheers,
Huub

Good evening Huub,
what does you not know about?
yes in fact the last german U-Boot under french flag was withdrawn from service in 1968, But this was another type.
The Alouette II had its maiden flight in the early 50ies. And the last french submarine left Lorient in 1997.
When I Begun sailing in brittany in 1985, especially in this region from time to time I had seen some of the "classic" french after war submarines.

Best Regards

Michael

Godwin Brumowski flew several Albatros D.III aircraft, The last one was the all red 153.209, which was a late type D.III built by OEFFAG (Österreichische Flugzeugfabrik AG). He scored his last 4 victories with this aircraft.

The red colour was without doubt inspired by Manfred van Richthofen, the skull was the unit marking from Flik 41J introduced by Brumowski.

The model is the Albatros D.III OEF by Captain Kurt, as it is a CFS2 model, this repaint will be released as a CFS2 repaint. But for those who want to fly this unique model in FS2004; The model and repaint can be used in FS2004 without any major problems.

Good morning friends,
the scenery is Nice1960 de CalClassic sceneries - but sadly I could not download the files for the propliners and the Caravelles as the the link goes to the §%&* flightsim.com grrr so no static nor traffic files
and concerning the S-58 in the colors of the Protection Civile is purely fictious, as the first operational helicopter of the Protection Civile was the Alouette II. I will not release it as
1. I still have to finish the manual of the version of the Sikorsky H-34 G-III and
2. it is too fictional to be released.
3. I asked several times for repaints in civil colors of the S-58 - no one was interested so - - -

here rainy and cold weather brrrrr

Best regards

Michael

I'm testing some more aggressive carrier AI. :geek:

CVN-76.jpg
USS Reagan CVN-76 somewhere wayy east of Hong Kong. :wiggle:
Carrier scenery the way I like it. This is from the Abacus Flight Deck 4 package with modified AFCAD, AI, and Traffic files.
This new-ish AI traffic features six AI aircraft. Things get a lot more busy but, so far, its doing good.
In the foreground is the newly added JYAI Hawkeye while an F-35 and EA18G are getting ready to take off.
Look behind the crane boom and you'll spot the nose of an EA-6B Prowler.
The E-2 and SH-60 have already landed and parked up.

:p
