Short Stirling

Steven, a tutorial on damage profiles for CFS, but that works too for CFS2, can be found here:

Some points can be debated, as the damage dices values for AI gunners, that were fixed by the community with values giving 100% efficacity for the gunners, all the gunners present on our AI planes are skilled snipers that never miss their target, changing this damage dice could modify this fact, bringing some random efficiency in the planes reactions, but it's an other story...

Mav, the spoiler command is used for the single landing light which retracts under the port wing .

The canopy command slides the pilot's side window open or shut.

Martin, thanks for fixing the bomb doors. I'll have to amend the DP, as the bombs being mounted too high in the fuselage, cannot be seen when the doors are open.

A couple of small things - sometime the landing light is on, even in the retracted position, other times no light a all. The aircraft is now much larger in the FF preview panel and when starting FF. The scale appears correct but the default view is very close.

Cheers,
Kevin

There are presently US 500 and 2000 pound bombs which do not fit into the three longitudinal compartments. As well as adjusting their positions, I would like to replace them with British bombs used during the first half of the war.

Can anyone tell me which British bombs in our collection would be the most suitable?

Thanks again KD, I know which raf 500lb bombs will work since they fit fine in two other Stirling planes I have. I'll have to look up what they are I'm still going to try and fit the US 500lb bombs in the 3 compartments for Bhudda's conversion so I'll see.

Hi KD. Try in SOH CFS2 weapons British Bombs by Allen and GB British Bombs by Mathias. The Alpha Stirling uses RAF bombs , but I don't know where they got them from. Both the Alpha Stirling and Thicko's Mk1 don't have 3 bombay compartments, only 1.The 3 compartments make it difficult to fit the US DB bombs at least for me. Hope this helps.

Also try in SOH CFS2 weapons the Alpha CFS2 WW2 Weapons. This has the RAF 250lb, 500lb and 1000lb bombs that were used in the Alpha Stirling I believe.

A mistake of mine. The Alpha Stirling has 3 bombay compartments not 1, but the Alpha RAF bombs do fit. Sorry about error.

Hello again Gents
Here is the Stirling with landing light switching on when the spoiler animation is at 50% and over, and the collision bubble at value 22.

These values can be modified as you wish, let me know ;)

Cheers

Re. British bombs suitable for 1st half of the war

The Brits early war bombs were all teardrop shsped. They developed the MC series after seeing the greater blast generated by the German SC series with its parallel sides (also seen on the US GP bomb types).

The Stirling carried incendiaries, 500lb GP & 2000lb MC.

Bismark did a full series of teardrop bombs for his Beaufighter.

PStrany did some as well for his Hudson - not sure if it included a 500lb. These are mLOD.

I did a set of GB bombs. Not sure if it includes a teardrop 500lb, but I did early buff colour & later green coloured 250lb. These are mLOD.

Allens set includes a teardrop 500lb. These are mLOD.

I included a basic incendiary with my reworked Alpha Halifax III.

Nobody has done the 2000lb MC

Try this.... spoiler operates bombdoors and landing light works with landing gear
Hello Mav
Thanks for your suggestions
Yes, I can do that, but in this case the landlights will switch on day and night, so not on my opinion the perfect choice, but the animation possibilities are so limited in CFS2 that the perfect choice doesn't exist :(
It could be coupled with lightstates too, but some say it can crash the game...

Cheers
Martin
