Just watched an episode on "The Flying Reporter" YouTube channel (highly recommended). And I HAD to end the day doing this... I only wish that my repaints of the Just Flight PA-28's would translate over to FS2024, as for now they are limited to 2020. Regardless, looks very good in the older sim too.

I do not know you and never met you before on SOH forums but I would like to tell you that your entire room COMPLETELY reserved for flight simming is MOST AWESOME I ever seen!! That is AMAZING computer set up!!!! I am using very merely simple laptop for 18 years of flight simming and still going on and your TWO pc setups embarress my laptop! hahahahah!

Actually, the computer with the two monitors (almost 18 years old!), is used for my writing, and off to the right of the picture is a large bookcase with my library. Not everything is flight sim, but it is a very comfortable space for my flying, writing, and study. But, there's no air conditioning in the old house (around 120 years old), and when temperatures hit the mid 30's (Celsius), it's time to keep the computers off.

Do not be discouraged by your own setup. There have been many times that I have used older and more limited systems for simming. In fact, that flight sim setup you see was purchased last year from a friend. It's about six years old, and I drove 4000km to go and get it!

Use what you have at any given moment, and enjoy the experience.

Although I have air conditioning in my apt, I never use it preferring to open windows during summers. I use Lego bricks to lift the back of laptops to allow air flow under laptops during flight simming.

This 777 was £34 with the discount currently offered. I am not a tube liner nerd by any stretch of the imagination but the quality of their models is second to none. I have mates that fly 737 and 777 for a real world living and they vouch for the realism. I taught myself to fly them with Jonathan Beckett on Utube. The satisfaction of being able to enter a flight plan and fly a zero-zero ILS approach in a 737 is so rewarding it really is and if I can do it anyone can. I'm not interested in sitting at my PC for 7 hours flying a realistic route - I do the flight planning then get up to cruise and fast forward the sim and do the approach and landing - its the best . I am the most casual of casual simmers !

Took a few boxes from Orcas to Tillamook. I headed to the coast, then followed that down to Tillamook Bay while I had my GPS OBS set to guide me in over the bay in case the weather turned.

Flying the entire Alsib route, as far as I've been able to configure it, is 5500 miles and it took me about a week in my spare flying time. Here's a flight of 3 to take planes and supplies to the Russian border.

Once the supplies and aircraft have been delivered, the Russians repaint the red star and, within 24 hours, take off for their frontline bases.
