excuse me @anels9, but per 2017/03/02 I would like to draw your attention to the following as noted in readme https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=Kazunori+Ito+libellula, verbatim, under section 5
"5. [ About free software ]

All aircraft that I made are free software.
The reprint and the repaint may go freely.
However, please defend the following conditions.

1.The change in contents of this file is prohibited.
(Please distribute it like the Zip file of the current state when distributing it. )
2.Please neither reverse-assembly nor never remodel(convert) it of the aircraft model.
and don't covert my airframe for CFS Series.
3.Please don't bundle my airframe(MDL file) in the package of your works when you open the repaint to the public.
(Please open only the texture to the public. )
4.Don't use DXT format for making texture.
Please make it by the format that everyone can change.
It is necessary to be able to read and change with usual drawing software.
5.It is prohibited to bundle and to open a new panel to the public to my aircraft model.
(Please open only the panel to the public.
It is included in this file, and remodeling the panel that uses the panel background and the change in the panel background are prohibited. )
6.I maintain the copyright of the aircraft model and the panel background.
7.The copyright of the gauge belongs to the author. "

and with respect to his health:

Accordingly per the above, I would recommend to all concerned to acquire the requisite permissions - email included in readme prior to any remodeling of the model mdl file, for without said permissions, any model modifications are in direct contravention of his conditions of usage!

Many thanks for your cooperation and understanding!

cheers!

If you get in touch with Kaz, make sure to invite him over. (y)
Plenty of us old duffers still fussing over FS2002 and FS2004. :wiggle:

I wonder if it's possible to contact him anymore. It was some years ago that he stopped making models and the reason was that he was losing his eyesight due to some kind of trouble that couldn't be fixed. It he started going blind years ago he might not be able to use a computer at all anymore, even for things like e-mail.

Realistically, and sadly, nobody has heard anything from the august gentleman in over a decade. I've seen posts elsewhere that suggest that email address is no longer working. šŸ˜ž

My earnest & sincere hope is that he is living a comfortable and secure retirement. It is sad that we cannot let him know how fondly he is remembered, by so many.

A few years ago, I had a repaint commissioned by the very talented Sergey Gleba for the Mig-31. I got him to give it some nice proper afterburner can and exhaust petal detail, as you can see per the photo.

the alpha/virtavia cf-105 arrow afterburner work best here as it seems to match the darker tone of photos i can find on the internet of the real foxhound.

I also have found a couple panels on the russian avsim which are functional and quite nice.

And nigel richards J79 is best for the militarised D-30F6. The Soloviev seems to have a unique howl at mid to high power and very similar at idle to the j79.

making models

I never had the chance to communicate with Kaz, but I did start to understand him.
He was literally making FS aircraft based on plastic models he had assembled, only they were now "full sized".
That was why he never really concentrated on the FD. He just wanted to see one of his models flying without throwing it off the top of a roof.

This also explains why he would never give permission to "arm" one of his creations, if you think about it.

<< I was wearing this patch for almost three years when we were homeported in Sasebo, Japan.
Its defiantly different over there compared to the US. :ernaehrung004:

per Ito-san's readme from the aforementioned simviation link, verbatim:

"Please Notice

I like military aircrafts. Especially, fighter!!
But, It is because the shape is unique and the manoeuverability is good.
I like aircraft that can freely fly in the big sky.
However............I hate war and combatting.
When I thinks the airframe that I made launches the bullet and the missile, I become scary.
Therefore, I'm prohibiting convert of my airframe for CFS.
If it is possible, I am wishing my airframe not to be used in CFS.
Though you might be said "Because it's simulation world"..........
Please..........Please......."

rather self-explanatory then, I daresay

There is also, for obvious reasons, an aversion toward militaristic tendencies in Japanese society.
quite right and much the same in German society; try bringing up military themed topics or even posting screenshots of the same at FS2004.team - a german FS2004 flight sim forum, and one will find themselves causing much the public opprobrium if not facing sanctioning and/or banned ad perpetuam from the forums...anyhow in both societies it touches a raw nerve

anyhow one must always respect the wishes of the developers / creators, especially if they do not hear from them indicating otherwise; again thanks @anels9 for the understanding! appreciated!

Thanks @wolfebee89 for highlighting the wishes of the late Ito-San.

After all the contributions he made to the community, they should be respected.
