FS2004 - Airships / Balloons / Blimps / Zep's

It is somehow weird to see Paris without the City... and the Eifel Tower standing alone as if he's somewhere in the Desert...
here's another shot of that one... this time with the City of Paris... :p:D
@zswobbie1 I only mentioned the Paris/IDF scene in the context of the above remarks, and assuming that Paris/IDF from the golden age to the silver age to the contemporary era would regardless still have a nigh similar build density, given how historically developed the region is so the abovesaid landclass ought not to be too off - and finally that it is freeware makes it a great choice for those without the relevant FranceVFR scenery packages

and @leuen I meant the Landclass/Terrain géomodif from said site which covers nigh the entire Île-de-France region and beyond merely Lognes-Emerainville http://lfplplateform.free.fr/landclass-IDF-v1.8.zip and the mesh http://lfplplateform.free.fr/RegionParisienne.zip

Kevin Bryan's 'Enterprise' Touring Airship over modern-day Paris with the aforementioned freeware landclass/terrain mods...understandably skyscrapers would be unrealistic for the golden wings

Maybe move French scenery posts to a separate forum post, as it is quite interesting & lets get back to the original discussion of Airships/Balloons/Blimps/Zep's.
Sorry Robin. It was me. Maybe I had to show the Unreal airship in a more neutral environment! But it was in the wrong thread anyway, as the subject is modern airships and so on. Vintage are for other sites ...

Really some evocative pictures of retro balloons/airships with modern & vintage scenery here.
FS2004 has really moved ahead with Golden\Retro scenery & aircraft.
We are so grateful for having the support of those that give us so many Retro creations, scenery & pictures
FS2004 STILL rocks!

All good, and thanks for all the French links & pictures.
Maybe we could have a bigger audience if put into another post.

Not really!

This thread was meant to be for a collection of all available Airships, Blimps, Balloons and such, for FS2004... Both Vintage and Moderne!

So please go ahead! You're absolutely welcomed to post everything from the beginning of Aviation till today's day and age... concerning available Airships, Blimps, Baloons and Zeppelines, for FS2004 you can find online.

I even wish there would be a Gallileo Balloon, available for FS2004... does anybody know of it? Since Aviation really began with that one... even before any Blimp or Balloon existed...

Thanks a ton for every contribution on this subject and in this thread. I really appreciate everyone and everyone's contribution!

To appease the discussion, here a modern airship: Anders Jermstad's Goodyear GZ-20A Blimp "Stars & Stripes". According to the author, the airship was based in Pompano Beach, Florida (at least in 2004 when he released it).

Simv has a whole bunch of them, search for blimps, airships, balloons & zeppelins.
There are a couple of CFS2 blimps there, that I'll be modding the cfg's to see if they will work.

Not forgetting the Must Have LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin by Lynn & Bill Lyons, right here, down the page at https://www.sim-outhouse.org/toh/

Found an interesting Review of that one in Polish Language… seems like it explains also about the main Storage Hangar at Lakehurst Airfield (KNEL). And it also features an Autopilot download link for the Graf Zeppelin. Not sure it the Graf Zeppelin Addon features KNEL Airfield as an addon itself… that would be cool. otherwise i hope KNEL is available on Avsim (haven’t checked that yet).

You’ll find the Review here:

If anybody’s interested in the well known “Hindenburg” Blimp, the one that crashed into a Powerline and burnt down when it crashed…

another download here: http://www.avsimrus.com/f/fs2004-aircrafts-40/hindenburg-zeppelin-25717.html
that is the one by Chuck Jodry VJPL Flight Lab, and in the event that link does not work, also available here: https://www.fs2000.org/2006/05/27/fs2004-hindenburg-d-lz129/

First Class Simulations WWI Fighters addon on Simshack seems to feature a Blimp as well:

https://www.simshack.net/products/wwi-fighters-add-on-fsx-fs2004-170
also available at PCAviator https://www.pcaviator.com/store/product.php?productid=19012
review with additional screenshots: https://web.archive.org/web/20160321022356/http://www.avsim.com/pages/0608/Abacus/Dogfight.htm

indeed Frank J. Petriccione developed an entire array of airships/blimps/zeppelins for FS2002/4/X: https://www.fs2000.org/?s=Petriccione

Lakehurst as designed by Bill Lyons is included in the Graf Zeppelin package available at SOH - Bill generally included custom golden age historic scenery in his custom classics releases

I can also recommend in the same line of thought John Stinstrom's excellent NAS Sunnyvale / Moffett Federal Airfield

and also Stinstrom's WWII era NAS package https://library.avsim.net/extsearch...uthor]=stinstrom&extended_search[category]=44

Sorry to say that, but Petriccione's airships are aweful. There is a ZR5 (Macon), which is an AI model included in Sunnyvale package. However, interest of this kind of aeronautical objects seems to be rather small!

Bernard
I always had the impression that he only made one airship model and then dressed it in a series of different unauthentic skins to more or less, mainly less, represent various airships.

Thanks Wolfebee to promote vintage airships and generally seen vintage aviation. Especially if it's shown in adequate environment.
