FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

Another stunning repaint again l'iguane. But I'm a bit puzzeled. Kirk Olsson made many different models of his F-16 and I have several different model installed. But none of the is called "sim=Viper1" in the aircraft configuration file. The model which comes close is the USViper model, however this is called "sim=VIPER" and all models version for this are "slightly" different aswell.

This made me think you might have a newer version of the original "USViper" (folder just called Viper). Can you tell me whether my assumption is correct and if "yes" were can I find this Viper2 model?

I hope the above makes some sense as it sounded logical when I wrote it, but even I was confused when I dis re-read it........

Thanks in advance,
Huub
Hi Huub,

I'm using this model :

It's the most refined version Kirk ever release (In my opinion), especially the VC (smoother and more area dedicated to gauges in the VC)
Here is my set up (work in progress) using various freeware gauges.
Remark : I didn't purchase the module from E. Marciano, I'm only using the model included offered as freeware support.

Eric Marciano did some very nice work there for FS9 users… i am using his A320 Panel mod which is spectacular.

There is also the old Lago payware F-16. The flight dynamics and sound are nothing to write home about and the MDL looks like it was ported from FS2000, BUT the panel (2D and VC) is very solid for a Block 30 Viper. Swapping this panel folder into the K.O. Viper is possible but it requires a LOT work for the VC and you'll still get limited functionality. It has another version of an older "ladder" HUD but you get a full set of warning messages, PLUS a nice audio warning set (AKA B######g Betty) along with a "multi mode" Radar display for the left MFD.

My favorite HUD for the Viper is found in the KBT Super Hornet. Very clear in both the 2D and VC and very easy to swap into the F-16.
This HUD is very easy to install and while it isn't complicated, you DO get a small (working) velocity vector display. To paraphrase Mover, "Just put the thing on the stuff and keep it there". It makes landings a snap.

BTW, this is why I don't have a panel folder ready for upload.
Just the idea of cranking out a twenty page README/INSTALL file keeps this project secure on my main drive. :p
2D and VC panels for Kirk's Viper quickly start to look like a scrap heap. I use three different base panel folders and their gauges plus special sound files. It all looks great, you just need to trust me.

@l'iguane Thanks l'iguane, it is indeed a better version of Kirk Olsson's timeless F-16 model. And really looking forward to your colourful Danish livery.

@Sbob Thanks for the improved flight synamics. I haven't been able to try them out, but I'm curious as your remarks about the flight dynamic of the original by Kirk, do make perfect sense.

Cheers,
Huub

That Transall looks good. Is it available anywhere to download at all?
Unfortunately not, nope! It was once done for the German vGAF. And therefore it was a Donationware… The Informational Documentation within, clearly states, that it isn’t openly shareable. What so ever… - so i can’t share it with anyone unfortunately.
