FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

That last one is even more wacky looking when you see it in the flesh; it's been re registered to USA now;
its a nice 3d model but CRJ flight deck is nothing like a Global ( I get up close and personal with Global's in my day job)

it indeed needs an updated Flight Deck…

AirBasil, what Global Express model is that? Is it freeware or pay ware?
its a conversion of the IRIS Simulations Global Express model… but still a WIP… so not yet available.
Also there won’t be a Sentinel Model unfortunately but just the normal GLEX

Another stunning repaint again l'iguane. But I'm a bit puzzeled. Kirk Olsson made many different models of his F-16 and I have several different model installed. But none of the is called "sim=Viper1" in the aircraft configuration file. The model which comes close is the USViper model, however this is called "sim=VIPER" and all models version for this are "slightly" different aswell.

This made me think you might have a newer version of the original "USViper" (folder just called Viper). Can you tell me whether my assumption is correct and if "yes" were can I find this Viper2 model?

I hope the above makes some sense as it sounded logical when I wrote it, but even I was confused when I dis re-read it........

Thanks in advance,
Huub

Note to Huub- Good things happen when you use the .air file of the KBT F-2 with Kirk's Viper. :wavey:

I put this kit together for l'iguane. Its something I played around with for many months to make the Viper feel more like a Viper. Its mostly the best of the old F-16 .cfg updates getting integrated into KBT's F-2 flight dynamics.
Copy your aircraft cfg's [fltsim.XX] entries and paste them into the new aircraft.cfg file. Change the "sim=" line for each [fltsim.XX] entry to sim=F-2. While you're at it, replace the Sound folder with the KBT F-2's sound folder.

The real F-16 relies heavily on digital flight controls which means that it feels "automatic" to fly. I think I re-created this "feel" while making the Viper a little more stable. This version of the FD will give you 8 to 9 G. Use small/quick taps on your Trim button. A little Trim goes a long way.

One last thing, these new files are for Kirk's "US" Vipers, C and D models. With other versions of the Viper (Norwegian especially) you'll want to add the original "eyepoint" and [contact points] numbers. For the CFT/Sufa equipped D models, note that this kit will give you 8 to 9 G- which is very inaccurate. A Viper that heavy is usually limited to 2-4 G.

That is the problem, knowing how different they are & which packs could be consolidated. I keep trying to rationalise the models, I tend to give up when my head starts hurting.

Uncle Bob :D , that looks mighty useful. What adjustments, if any can be made, are needed for the CFT/late block models?

two further notes worthy of attention with respect to Camenen's scenery:

1) mesh patch: https://web.archive.org/web/2011120...gesperso-orange.fr/Fichiers/PageFS2004-2.html ---> scroll down to the end of the web page

2) the file toits bretons at https://web.archive.org/web/2023100...lfe.pagesperso-orange.fr/Fichiers/telfs9.html has unfortunately not been archived by the wayback machine, but is regardless mandatory, and failing which, one will encounter scenery glitches in Camenen's Golfe du Morbihan scenery!
Accordingly, the solution then, thanks to the relevant archived file at Pascal Dumat's website: https://web.archive.org/web/20230928112836/http://p.dumat.pagesperso-orange.fr/htm/agbreton.htm is to download agbreton.zip, and with the help of the lisez moi / readme included in the Golfe du Morbihan scenery package as a guideline, rename the two autogen texture files in Dumat's agbreton.zip per the following: agbretagne.bmp ---> blda2_modif.bmp and agbretagneLM.bmp ---> blda2_modifLM.bmp and copy said renamed autogen texture files into the root Flight Simulation 9\Texture folder. That ought to be it!

cheers!

I'm trying to find the ZK-AEK repaint by Peter Watkins for the De Havilland DH.83 Fox Moth by David Molyneaux.

I've searched the Resources here, but couldn't find it.

Any help gratefully accepted, Thanks.

Kirk's Viper is awesome but Kirk's Viper is OLD and its really messy.
I wasn't looking at Block #'s as much as I wanted to make it flyable.
Look at 20 different installs of Kirk's Viper and you'll find 30 different Aircraft.cfg files and 40 different panel folders.
There are so many different Vipers out there because its worth messing with. (y)

What I did was come up with something flyable that mostly matched the real Viper's numbers and still felt like it had digital flight controls.
If you want to mess around with it, be my guest. :wiggle:

Just be aware, the Block #'s don't matter as much as what's bolted to the wings. What kinds of bombs and missiles are you hauling? How many fuel tanks, etc.

Meanwhile, now that my virtual deployment with VFA-146 is over I need something new to dive into as a long-term project. :p
I flew the B-52 into a rut and I'm backing away from the Hornet to avoid doing the same.

How about something a little more radical?

B70.jpg

This would be a "What If?" project using the Alphasim/Virtavia XB-70 but what if SAC and the Congress bought the B-70 as a strategic bomber?
Where would they be based? Look carefully at the bomb wing insignia. One of my "that's possible" bases is Fairchild AFB, long and wide runway plus a good geographic location, so I added a 92nd BW shield. Some other candidates would be Grissom AFB after they turned in their B-58s. Curtis LeMay really couldn't stand the Hustler. Even with refueling it still had short legs. The only other base I could see would be Dyess AFB or Carswell AFB (to keep LBJ happy). I considered Loring AFB but Loring was losing its sparkle by the early 1970's
The next question would be how the B-70 holds up to air refueling? Flogging this thing around at 28,000 feet and 275 KTS is not for the feint-of-heart. Speaking of, how was this thing supposed to drop anything at 70,000 feet and at Mach 3? Imagine cruising along in an SR-71 and opening two barn doors..

I've read elsewhere that it was designed to use sliding doors:

"The length of the track permitted only one door to be opened at a time. Moving both doors aft opened the forward 14 feet of the bay; moving only the aft door opened the rear 14 feet of the bay; the center 1 foot was unusable since the doors never cleared the area. This also meant that weapons longer than about 13 feet could not be carried by the B-70."

Blackburn, of course, used a much more elegant solution on the Bucc. If anything about the Buccaneer could be elegant!

One of the best looking aircraft, the next is the Tupolev Tu-160 'White Swan'--- Both simply gorgeous aircraft!!

If I did it right, it'll be in the Resources in a few time.
