Side notes for Kodiak drivers;
On the PFD screen, there is a menu button along the bottom called CDI. That is your NAV / GPS button. Clicking on that switches you between NAV and GPS modes. The button will also say which mode you are in and the label will change from CDI/NAV to CDI/GPS. The center of the CDI Compass Rose will also convert from green to magenta, showing the 2 versions of NAV mode you are in. GPS is green.
A flaw in 'something' in the gauges code is causing the front doors to not open. To get around this, reload the plane as soon as you load up in a flight. Example; boot up into your flight as usual in the Kodiak, then go to aircraft and simply select the exact same plane again and hit OK. Now your doors will function.
The center MFD (GPS) screen now boots up in 'Sleep Mode'. To turn on (wake up) the GPS screen, simply select the small MAP menu button at the bottom center of the MFD screen and your map appears. You can then turn it black and blue (night mode) by clicking Terrain, and you can declutter the map down to just airfields objects by selecting DCLTTR menu button several times.
Note that there are 3 ECIAS menu windows now; Engine, Fuel, Systems. You select the versions on the bottom menu buttons. Engine is the primary popup. If you turn that off, the ECIAS menu will then shut off. The ECIAS window is the Verticle engine readout along the left side of the MFD screen.
This MFD / PFD system can now bring you down to the runway (but shouldnt be used to auto-land). So for really bad weather (Coast Guard missions?) you can use the new NAV system AP to take you home with. All this is covered on a tutorial by Dwight that you can download from the Kodiak webpage. Which reminds me, he updated that, so I need to go upload it real quick. :d
For SkyDiver mode (removal of the rear Clamshell Door Assembly), you flip the 3D toggle switch at the base of the Co-Pilots control yoke. Its surrounded by blue. Cant miss it. Flip that and 'time' stops, Kodiak personel quietly show up, remove the door assembly, beam back up, and the Time Dialation Generator turns back off, releasing the stasis of time and blink! the door is gone. Time to take up some sky divers.
Side note; The US Military is looking into using the Kodiaks as sky diver training planes for soldiers traing for paratrooping, etc.
For cargo running, if you deliver a cargo and you wish to fly back empty, select the Empty model to fly back in. If there is not a version of 'Empty' available, you can create a Registry version in the 'Aircraft.cfg' file by creating a new Registry block, and entering the Texture version, Model version (Empty in this case) and finish setting up the naming process so that it shows up in FS, (proper name that isnt the same as the others, N-number, small JPG labellor, etc).
If you have any questions on it, please let me know.
